Posted .Thank you for your feedback. The online account shouldn't take 30 minutes to setup. You will need to create a password, enter your keycode, setup 2 security questions and a security key for a layered password.
Our new product is coming shortly and will have an enhanced methodology for passwords on the online account.

Posted .Viruses are always written for a specific platform. A virus written for Windows can only run on a Windows machine. Now consider that the aim of a computer virus is to spread to as many other machines as possible, much like the common cold spreads through the population when we hit winter. Attackers are obviously going to most often target the platform that the majority of people use in order to get the best return from their attack. And that platform happens to be Windows. Mac systems do still have vulnerabilities; however, they are not exploited as often as Windows is. That being said, there are plenty of threats designed for the MacOS, and that's where Webroot will be valuable to you as a Mac user.

Why should I pay for this software?

There are a good amount of FREE internet security programs like avast for.one, which is better than the junk like Norton's or McAfee. All those two do is slow down your computer and warn you that a website is going to save a cookie to your hard drive. Also for spyware and malware problems use spybot and malwarebytes, they're free as well and actually work. I Would return mine but I got it for free by buying a new computer........I guess it would make a good paper weight.

Terrible Virus Protection

On the new computer we purchased this Webroot came FREE with the purchase. When installed the virus protection claimed a few of the major operating parts were a virus and shut them down. When calling tech support they said that we had to pay to have it fixed. What a joke when the virus protection they gave us for free was the problem. We found a tech that didn't charge anything to put the system back in order. I would not use Webroot, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Most smart computer users already have a full version of protection at their disposal. I just threw mine in the trash. A carry case would have been a better option or a wireless mouse, you get the idea. Added software just bogs down any computer as it continually runs in the back ground. i truly hope Best Buy gets away from this practice or at least offers alternatives.

Doesn't work with IPAD

I spent 40 minutee on the phone with the Geek Squad. Their final conclusion: IT DOESN'T WORK WITH IPAD RETINA DISPLAY! That's an AMAZING result, since it is part of the promo package in Best Buy's IPAD advertising. Geek Squad told me to go to App Store and search on antivirus software. There are one or two listed under that category, but they only find your IPAD. In short, the software is superfluous.

This froze my computer and caused it to crash! Lost everything... They said they never seen anything like that happen. Three more times to the store now all is well!! Minus time, data ,and money.It seems like a nice program now. Careful.
