Webroot SecureAnywhere is compatible with Android devices with the following specs:
Android operating system version 2.1 or higher
Android-compatible device with 3 MB of free storage space
3G/4G data connection required for some features
Since iOS devices (iPad, etc) are very resilient against viruses, the WSA software is not actually needed - so its not compatible. However, the Webroot SecureBrowser app and the Webroot Backup&Sync app (for Complete customers) are compatible with Apple devices, as they are on Android devices.

Apple devices are well-known to be very difficult to compromise, but it is not impossible to do so. Its less likely to happen due to there being less malware out there targeting them, but it never hurts to keep safe.

There are free programs out there definitely, however, sometimes, you get what you pay for.
