I am giving this 2 stars instead of 1 because it did work well for several years, but not presently due to faulty updates. I have used Webroot for many years now with no issues or problems and was very pleased. I have used it on previous laptops & desktops over about 4 years now. Then, out of the blue, it changed. I noticed my lap top running very hot, as in....SUPER hot and draining my battery very fast. I began research and found in my Activity monitor that WSDaemon was running at 100 to 110% of CPU usage. I soon, through research, discovered it was from the Webroot program. I had many back and forths with the Webroot team and followed their instructions as advised such as: 1. Uninstalling and reinstalling 2. Running a program to gather information on my issue and sent it to them via a Zip File 3. My issue was "elevated" which for them is code for having me turn off parts of the program to see if it would stop using 100%+ of CPU making the program not protect me online. 4. They had me send in a list of times when they could call me to work through my issue, then I got an email saying to turn this off and this off and let them know if it solved the issue. And no phone call after I had sent in times I was available. Very disappointed, They never would answer if they were working on a solution when through out the internet you can search and find this is an ongoing problem, not just my issue. I finally decided to move on to another product to protect my devices. I couldn't believe that you can google WSDaemon using high CPU and find tons of information where people are having this problem, yet they will do nothing to try and help you other than a useless run around while I was either burning up my laptop running hot, or unprotected on the internet. My lap top is only just over 1 year old, so it isn't that my equipment is damaged. I think there was some update where this became a problem and they do not see it as a priority to find a patch for it. I would like to note that my son is running it on his desktop and it has not had this issue. Maybe it is a Mac thing? Either way, after years of using their product, I am looking at a competitor that will not ruin my nice, new macbook. You may want to research a bit if this has been a problem on devices like your own before buying this product keeping in mind they will be helpful without really helping to fix your problem.

I was given this for free with my latop purchase and it has been doing great. it has notified me when it has stopped a virus and so forth.
