Customers are saying

Customers highly value Webroot SecureAnywhere Internet Security for its ease of installation, reliable virus protection, and overall performance without compromising their computer's speed. They appreciate that it comes free with certain purchases and offers satisfactory security features. However, some users have concerns about compatibility issues, potential slowdown of their computers, and the relatively short subscription length of six months.

Great product. Easy to use as well as it does not take too long for it to run. So far have not crashed nor got stuck scanning. More happy to have it than Kasperinsky or McAfee

This is my first webroot purchase, I always used another antivirus. I am very pleased with this antivirus and will continue purchasing it each upgrade period. Works great!

I had been using AVG's free anti-virus software for years which I was happy with, but after using this product I am blown away. It doesn't slow you down at all. It's as if it's not even there! It's cloud-based, installs quickly, uses minimal space, and does its business without interrupting you. No need for downloads/updates. Though I loved not paying for the AVG software, this is worth paying for! I love this and would recommend it to everyone.

I received this for free with the purchase of my MacBook. Initially I was not going to download it. I was told that my Mac will not get a virus unless I do something crazy (open a strange email or go on an unsafe website). After further research, I decided to download it anyway. So far, so good! I am very careful about the sites I go to on my Mac and I run a scan once a week. I will probably purchase Webroot again after my free year expires.

Better than my recent results with Norton Int Sec

In my previous corporate life Norton/Symantec security tools were the gold standard both by reputation and experience in a shop with over a thousand installations. Recently however, on a Windows XP PC that almost certainly was virus infected freshly built Norton Internet Security Bootable Recovery Tool found one suspicious file (rpcss.dll) and could not repair it. After manual repair Norton Internet Security installed easily then updated itself for at least five hours (processing, not download). On subsequent boots it would eventually get around to running LiveUpdate and that process would consume CPU and ever-increasing quantities of virtual memory until the PC would be unresponsive to its user. Fortunately, I also had a new copy of Webroot. Norton I.S. uninstalled (almost cleanly). Webroot installed cleanly, updated itself and has let the PC run responsively for weeks. Now, is it protecting this PC against viruses? I see the classic EICAR68 harmless test virus is now described as harmful by PANDA, so I'm reluctant to try that. Does it get updated to recognize new threats? Unlike Norton Internet Security's explicit/automatic LiveUpdate, which does work on all of the other computers I've installed, Webroot says "It's all handled in the cloud". I'm starting to interpret that statement with as much trust as "Your check is in the mail" and other notorious phrases. In summary, Webroot doesn't hurt this PC as much as a certain highly-promoted anti-virus product. It shuts up Windows griping that there isn't any active virus protection. Maybe it protects against viruses. Maybe it recognizes new viruses via cloud magic.

FRUSTRATING PACKAGE, Not good for installing

I chose this because it was offered as a novelty to my purchase of a larger product (a CPU)...of the other 2-programs they gave me the option of that I had personal experience with, this one has not given me problems. The only thing I DO NOT like at all is when you are entering the product registration key for installation, the code is a "peeling sticker" directly on the back of the box, and it comes right off and pulls the print with it. Why ON EARTH WOULDN'T THEY ENCLOSE THE REGISTRATION KEY inside the cartridge WITH the disk it comes with, instead of putting a cheap, "PEEL HERE" sticker that then makes the code illegible...in the end, I had it NOT installed on my computer for over 3-weeks, and after numerous attempts to call the company and retrieve the code from my purchase, I was finally sent a reminder e-mail by Best Buy stating "Do not forget to install your WebRoot" and ONLY in that single e-mail did they repeat the serial # and the registration key (code) I had carefully ripped off the package.

Scans are quick and efficient. I'm previously a McAfee user and was not satisfied with that protection. 30 days since installation and Webroot hasn't let me down thus far.
