    Fun bit of fluff

This is a John Hughes (The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles) movie from the 1980s. It's a fun bit of fluff that I've always liked. The basic plot is that two nerdy guys who are outcasts create their "perfect woman" (Kelly LeBrock) who then teaches them some important life lessons. I was very happy to see this on Blu-ray, but aside from a really good price, it also came with a DVD and Ultraviolet versions. In addition, the packaging has some interesting 1980s trivia. I think this edition has some extras the old DVD version didn't, but I no longer have the old version to compare. There aren't a lot of bonus features, but they include a commentary track and the pilot of the TV series of the same name.

A Classic Sci-Fi Comedy Back on HD

Weird Science was a movie I never got to own. I always watched it when it came on TV. I'm glad to see this classic Sci-Fi Comedy come back on HD. My Dad really enjoyed this movie when he was younger and showed it to me all the time when I was a kid. It's a quirky movie, but I wouldn't recommend it for children. Make sure you have good parental discretion if you are going to have your kids or teens watch this movie. It's more for older teens to young adults to older adults. This is a must own movie.

John Hughes Gets Weird and Hilarious

After his more heartfelt and yearning films "Sixteen Candles" and "The Breakfast Club," John Hughes completely let his id and his inner teen boy self loose with the wild, hilarious "Weird Science." I won't bother summarizing the film, but suffice it to say that it was totally unlike what Hughes had done before. This exercise in hysterical, preposterous lunacy is an all-out fun fest of low-brow jokes, toilet humor (in one scene, even literally), dorkdom and sci-fi goofiness. It's a blast.

This is a great movie, in my opinion. Of course, you have to be open to the less than pure science that goes on in the movie. It is a 1980s movie so there are no fancy computer graphics or fancy bits of "movie magic" that tend to permeate most modern movies. In fact, this movie relies more on acting and the actual story than fancy special effects. There are some special effects, but they are only as needed for the story and are not overdone.

    An 80's Classic!

I've always loved this movie. I don't know if it's because of the typical 80's teen angst or the fact that it makes me nostalgic for my own teen years (When this was actually playing in the theaters)...but whatever the case, it's great to see it again. I was also impressed by the transfer. I'd think that a Blu-ray quality disc with an 80s movie on it would be horrible but, in fact, the quality was superb so I was quite relieved.

Love this 80's classic movie. Two nerdy high school boys who can't score girlfriends, decide to build the girl of their dreams doing a crazy science experiment. Lo and behold it works and the fantasy begins from there. Of course their parents are out of town. Their new girlfriend throws them a party and the fun doesn't stop.

This was or is one of my favourites movie. I don't know how many times I've watched it. And I still love it. Yes it's a corny movie but it's a fun Xscape. If you are a child of the 80s this is your kind of movie! Two friends decide to build a woman using their computer. A weak plot but it has its moments in the movie is just a fun ride!

    An 80's Comedy Favorite

Easily one of my favorite comedies. Two nerds create a beautiful woman with genie like powers and throw an epic party. The picture is very processed looking, but slightly better than the DVD. The sound quality is serviceable. The five star rating is for the movie but the pq is more like a 2.5 to 3 and audio a 3 out of 5 stars.

A real fun movie to watch. Anthony Michael Hall is in his usual best. I had a big crush on Ilan Mitchell Smith during my teens. Too bad he retired from acting early. Kelly Le Brock is drop dead gorgeous. Imo, it's one of John Hughes best.

Such a good movie. It’ll never win any major awards but it will be a great reminder of when I was younger and going to the movies to see Kelly LeBrock was with blowing my allowance! A funny movie worth seeing. I introduced my son too it and he has his friends watching. It never gets old.

Among other John Hughes movies, Weird Science does not seem to get the same amount of love as the others. Just another one of his amazing movies from the 80's. Two high school nerds make a woman, who teaches them about life and love. Just a hilarious movie, with a lot of great actors you make recognize.
