Not plug-and-play. Device needs to be formmated.

After getting bounced around at Sandisk support I came to find out this drive still needs to be formatted, tried to formatting and system doesn't allow me to because device is write-protected. I don't have time to format hard drives (purchase 2) and I only wonder how someone with less tech knowledge will get this device working. Returning tomorrow. I will stay with a simple SDD, plug-and-play hard drive.
