Remote delayed response

The TVs themselves have lasted for many months and are OK for what we use them for, the kitchen and one of our spare bedrooms. However, the remote control response is very delayed on both TVs. We will clear the cache and they will work OK for a few days, and then after a week or so, it becomes an issue again. You press a button on the remote and it takes 3 or 4 seconds for the TV to respond. This can be confusing, because when the TV doesn't respond right away, you might press the button again, and now you will have both responses in succession, for example mute then unmute. It appears to be that the unit is designed with not enough memory since clearing the cahe fixes it for a few days.
