Awesome at first
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV on black Friday for a great deal. Overall the picture and sound was great until a few weeks ago i noticed the the picture kept flashing on and off on the Netflix app. Didn't really think much of it just turned it on and off and now its having a hard time switching from ps4 HDMI to cable TV. And getting weird colored blotches all over the screen and it keeps blinking. I hope my warranty for one year is not up and can get it replaced. Overall i did like the TV when it was working right.

Good 4K TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV on a incredible sale around black Friday. The picture quality is pretty good. It's not an upper end TV but it gives a good picture as well.

Not such a hot tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are buying this tv with potential gaming in mind--DONT. The input lag is ATROCIOUS even with adjusting settings and applying game mode. On top of that, there is terrible movement quality in games. Extremely fuzzy and out of focus when moving or following movement regardless of where the movement is taking place (fore/background). When unpacking、 I also noticed that the top of the screen felt loose somehow. I was worried that it would separate if I moved the tv too much. This is pure conjecture but it did have me concerned as I've NEVER noticed an issue like this with any other tv. If you want a tv that has a nice image, this one does at least have that. The 4k images show up crisp and clean so everyday tv and movie-going might be something you would consider this tv for. That said, other reviewers have also noted that their quality of life was low on this tv and that the remote has awful input lag as well. All in all, this was my first investment into a Westinghouse brand tv and I was severely disappointed. At least it was easy to set up.

Buyer Beware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So a few days ago i wanted a 4k tv but didnt want to spend a fortune so i went to bestbuy.com and looked up cheap 4k tvs and they had this one The Westinghouse and so i decided i would give it a try and for $329.99 at that time i couldnt go wrong. So i bring it home and set it up and seen i guess its called shadowing on the screen and i figured it doesnt affect the picture quality to much i will keep it. So 3 days go by and it still bothered me witht the shadowing but not only that i had issues with discoloration when i would switch between 1080p and 4k or it did it automatically for blurays and i would have to turn the tv off and turn it back on for it to fix itself and then there was severe lag or delay when i would use my playstation 4. Also the remote control was huge. So i returned it to bestbuy and will neveer buy another item with the westinghouse name. It is a cheap generic brand and will never recommend this to anyone. Horrible tv please steer clear of it and avoid it by any means. I have pictures as well to prove my findings.

Not good for video games or fast paced viewing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Read all the reviews on this thing and they all seemed well enough to purchase for the price but if you want to watch faced paced sports or play video games, then this TV is extremely sub par. The refresh rate is TERRIBLE. My 8 year old LG plasma out performs this thing 10 fold. You can barely play a game without it feeling like your controller sensitivity is severely off and it feels like your controller movement is always one step behind. If I can return this thing, I will and get another LG or Samsung.

Misleading Advertising
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I figured out why the TV seems so laggy for video games. Even after disabling noise reduction and setting it in game mode like another user suggested it was pretty bad. After going into the Windows display adapter settings I figured it out. When your input device (my PC in this case) is set to the full 4k resolution, the TV's frame rate is capped at a miserable 24hz (24 frames per second). You have to reduce the resolution all the way down to 1920x1080 in order to select 60hz in the display settings dropdown, and then the video lag finally disappears. Although I'm disappointed that there was such misleading advertising (it says "Images refresh 60 times per second for basic performance during fast-motion scenes."), I think I'll probably keep the TV. At $250 (black Friday price) it was still cheaper than most 1080p TVs of it's size, and 1080p content looks fine on it.

Poor customer support from WestingHouse
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV on Nov 24th 2016 it worked well for 10 months after that it has lot of issues. I did call the Westinghouse support team they asked me to send the pictures of the TV. They approved the photos and videos that I have sent. They are asking me to ship the TV with my expenses to there warehouse in California. They say that's there standard policy. Usually they have to bare the expenses of the shipping if there product is not working. They will send a new TV once they receive the defective TV in 1 to 2 weeks. The customer support is very poor.

Buyer beware!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buyer beware! I purchased this TV from best buy in January and am already having issues with it. Part of the picture will be color like it's supposed to be but then part of it will be gray or black and white. I've gone through every setting on there to try to correct this with no luck. Since I've only had the TV a few months and it's still under warranty, I called Westinghouse customer service. I was told that I'd have to ship this TV to them in California on my own dime for repairs. I'm on the east coast so it would cost me approximately $200 to ship this 50 inch TV to them!!! Then I'd have to wait up to 12 weeks for repair and to have my TV returned to me. This is absolutely unacceptable. The TV is under warranty, therefore I should not have to spend a dime of my money to have this TV repaired. Since they don't have a local repair shop that they utilize, my TV should be replaced at no cost to me. I will never again buy another Westinghouse product! Awful products with even worse customer service!

Decent TV for price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had the TV for 15 days. Froze 4 times in that time. Decent picture and sound for the price. But very frustrating when switching from apps or even powering off the television.

Buyer beware!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my boyfriend as a Christmas present two years ago to the month, and yesterday the local channels started changing by itself. After speaking with customer service twice, for over an hour each time to troubleshoot the issue, we were advised that the television is defective. Since we did not purchase an extended warranty, our only option is to pay a repair person almost $300.00 to repair it, or by another one. Do yourself a favor and spend a couple hundred extra dollars on a Sony or another reputable company when purchasing televisions and stay far away from Westinghouse televisions.

Not for gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this on Black Friday for the $250 price, but now I'm regretting it. It has terrible input lag, from my PS2 through a component cable. It takes half a second for the on-screen character to respond to my controller button pushing, rendering games unplayable. By comparison, my old CRT was instantaneous! Contrary to what another reviewer said, there is no, I repeat, NO Game Mode. Under "P. Mode", there are only 4 modes available: Dynamic/Movie/Standard/User. I tried turning off video processing such as DLC, MEMC, etc. but they did not make a difference in input lag. It was very frustrating. After checking with other coworkers who are gamers, they all choose Samsung or LG, and say they made sure there is a Game Mode. Well, I did not do my research, and now I learned my lesson.

Fail
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Order this Westinghouse - 50" Class (49.5" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV online and had it delivered to my home. The TV was set-up according to directions but the screen was black. There was power to the screen as indicated by the power light. Called the 800-Number for assistance and they tried to trouble shoot, doing the same procedures as I had already done. TV : Fail. Status: Returned to the store.

Westinghouse 4K is okay.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a Westinghouse TV in 2007 and I still use it now. I bought this one and it is an okay TV, but I had a big problem with using Netflix and other apps which shows so dark and cannot be adjusted at all. I also had a problem with getting Netflix to work, had to call customer service to get it to work

Also buyer beware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had I written this review a year ago it would have been great. However less than a year later this TV began to have problems. At first the picture would blink on and off but would stop after warming up. It got worse as time went along to having sound but no picture constantly .I was looking to get better service than this. Wish I had checked the reviews more closely. Hope this helps other buyers.
