I bought this tv for my apartment and it never did pick up HD channels. Turns out the tuner went bad in it, thankfully I had the Geek Squad Protection so I had no issues getting an in-store credit for it. Spend a little bit more money and get a better tv.

I bought this Tv as a gift black Friday. The TV's volume because garbled and distorted when you try to turn it up. I just got this TV, it's hard to believe that it's having issues already..

Grainy picture, sound is terrible ,
Buttons on remote hard to push commands. You get what you paid for. Save your money and invest in a Samsung, LG , Sony HDTV.

I purchased the tv for $229.00. This is a good price for a 50 inch tv but the picture quality is pretty poor. It is often difficult to read anything that is written on screen.

Pleased thus far

I bought this TV for Christmas for my husband and thus far we are satisfied. I decided on this particular model because of the price (I wanted to spend less on a TV so I could purchase lots of other gifts). Before buying, I checked the reviews and decided to try my luck. I am so glad I did. The picture is clear, the design is perfect for wall mounting, and the sound, despite what some people are saying, is just fine. My only complaint is that it doesn't get quite as loud as I'd like it to,but I have a Pioneer stereo system, so it's a non issue for me. If you're expecting the best TV on the market, don't buy this one, you'll just come back and leave a review that makes people uncomfortable. I'm well aware I didn't buy the top notch TV, but at the same time this is not a 'budget' TV in my opinion, it's just too good to fit into that category. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a large flatscreen TV for a good price.

TV started freezing and the only way of fixing it, was to unplug it. I was glad Best Buy took it back. Don't know why would they sell this brand if it's bad.

Bought this as a Christmas present for my guy to replace an old 46" Sharp that had developed a line down one side of the screen. It is nothing fancy, but he has a streaming blu-ray player and didn't need a smart TV. This one had all the necessary bells and whistles he needed, with enough HDMI and USB ports to hook up all of his gadgets.
The picture is beautiful, clear and crisp, and actually better than the expensive Sharp it replaced. (One handy tip I saw in an early review for the best picture quality: set it to "retail display." )
The sound - meh. It isn't bad, but it isn't great either. However, I was expecting that from reading the other reviews. It is a little tinny and definitely doesn't get very loud. So if you wanted to use it in a large living area or a theater room, it might be a problem without some type of external speaker system. We have it in an average-size living room, so the volume is not really an issue, but we are planning to purchase a sound bar just to improve the quality. For the price ($299 on a pre-Black Friday sale), it is well worth the extra expense of a sound bar. Overall, he is very pleased with it so far, and you can't beat the picture quality for a 50" TV under $300.

I've had great success and experience with Westinghouse TV's, and this is no exception. This replaced a defunct plasma in our church. Compared to the remaining plasmas, the colors on this are much more vivid. Easy to set up, and very good value.

I received this tv as an exchange and regret it. It's been 5 months and the TV has already blown out. The manufacturer customer service is the worst ever and best buy pretty much said there is nothing they can do about it. I will never buy this brand again.
