    Great bargain and... No HDR

This would be my first 4K TV purchase, but it will certainly (unfortunate for me) not be my last. I was not yet educated on the idea of HDR (High Dynamic Range) which is now the industry standard for 4K TVs. This model DOES NOT feature HDR. It was not until I plugged my PS4 Pro into it that I would learn one of the key features in upgrading my home entertainment would not be available for me to enjoy simply because this is an older model. That being said, my 3 stars rating does not reflect the absence of said feature, due mainly in part that at the time of purchase I didn't even know HDR was a thing. The first thing I noticed was that the factory presets are all off: the default picture is grainy and dark. Once you get into the settings, increase the picture brightness, decrease the contrast, and boost the color - then the picture "pops" in that ultra high def way. I upgraded from 1080p to 2160p, and it is a noticeable difference. The remote seems to have a rather annoying input lag and horrendous range. I have to be pointing directly at the unit from no less than five feet away. The other issue this TV appears to have is the device handshake is slow, and usually requires turning the TV off, then on again in order to display what you are connected to (like a PS4, or computer display) without seeing "No Signal." I have been used to my console turning my TVs on and off when they are turned on, and vice versa. Although there is a setting on the TV for that, there appears to be 0 compatibility with whatever device I am connecting to. The other issue is the sound quality from the TV speakers. Unless you have output to home theater speakers, you will be very disappointed. Overall, great picture for the price, but lacking in almost every category. I know if I spent maybe $200 more, I would get something more to my expectations. I would only recommend this to a friend if I knew they needed a bargain without being reasonably impressed.

Pictures of good quality, have not had ant issues, and easy set up. The ownly downfall so far is the volume is low, definitely recommend a sound bar.

It has been almost exactly a year since I purchased this TV. 4K quality looks great, it's not HDR but the blacks still look pretty good. Frame rate and refresh rate on this are good, I use it mostly for gaming using my Xbox One S, but I definitely use the built-in Netflix feature and dock my Nintendo switch. I've never noticed any motion blur or lag, unlike 1080 P TVs that were smaller and the same price. Honestly all things considered it has been an amazing TV. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because the remote is not great at all. You have to be pointing directly at the TV and I don't think it would work well at more than 30 or 40 feet away. And sometimes when I'm trying to turn up the volume one of the nearby buttons is pushed. Also you have to make sure to exit the Netflix app before turning off the TV, I would say 10% of the time if I just try to turn off the TV without exiting the app the TV will freeze and be on a black screen until I unplug and plug the TV back in. But as long as I push exit 1st and then turn the power off, it's flawless. Absolutely would buy again, and might even just buy a second one for another room.

Absolutely love my new TV. Has a crystal clear picture and the use of this smart tv is easy to set up as well easy for my grandkids to go straight to NETFLIX, etc., to watch their favorite shows. The unit was delivered straight to my door as promised on the date and time promised. Hopefully we will get years of great service out of it.

So far, so good. Looks great mounted on the wall. Sound and picture are both good. 2 issues so far; it doesn't seem to have the capability to add apps that aren't included. Which means that you won't be able to watch cable or DirecTV via their apps which saves the cost and trouble of adding a cable box. The second issue I've had is that if I switch to an included app such as Netflix or Pandora, the remote will not switch back to the cable box. I have to unplug the TV and it resets itself and turns on in cable mode. So basically, it doesn't function like any other Smart TV I have. Like most things in life, you get what you pay for.

I bought this TV for 349.00 strictly to save money and to replace our failing 50" 10 year old Samsung in the Master bedroom. This is our first 4K TV. The packaging was outstanding with clear instructions how to remove the TV. Compared to our old Samsung, this TV is light, and was easy to wall mount (our old mounts worked great). The TV has a metal backing which I thought interesting as most are plastic. The remote is nice and a better layout then our last, buttons have good tactile feedback and are well separated even for sausage fingers. Setup was easy and I simply picked the 'Home Mode' picture option which to me looks outstanding. The sound selections have various modes as well, music, movies etc, but most importantly the sound is very good (I was expecting terrible). Adding a sound bar would be simple, but for a small room not really necessary. Our firestick worked great no problem, I didn't try the apps but the interface is intuitive and easy to navigate (small learning curve). In my opinion, this is a great plug and play TV at an incredible price with a picture and sound quality on par with more expensive sets. Longevity to be determined.

Even the Manual says it freezes

    Posted .

I was very impressed by this tv because the picture quality seemed great and it was such a steal....but I soon realized that it really was too good to be true. On the third day of having this tv, I pressed the power button on the controller to turn it off, but the tv just went black and was obviously still on. I tried other buttons and even tried my Comcast controller, but nothing worked. After reading the manual, I found out that (and I quote), "The tv may freeze up during use. Disconnect the power cord from the power socket for a few minutes. Reconnect the power cord and try to operate again as usual." WAIT....WHAT? If it explicitly says this in the manual, why is this not in the description of the item for customers to clearly see? This freezing continued to happen every time I turned the tv off, which meant I had to unplug and plug it back in every time I used the tv. I had read reviews before I purchased, and thought that the bad reviews were few and far in between, but the freezing is an actual thing! I went back to Best Buy, even though it was a couple days after the 15 days allotted to return or exchange an item, and they allowed me to go ahead and exchange it since it was such a new tv. A+ rating for Best Buy customer service, F rating for Westinghouse quality and the lack of warning by Best Buy online. You get what you pay for.

I bought this tv on a Black Friday special and it has great so far. It was easy to set up, has a great picture, but occasionally gets pixelated, and has some smart tv features. If you want to watch Amazon or Hulu you will still need a fire stick or Roku. I’m very happy with this tv, especially for the price.

TV is very nice, looks good on the wall. However, refresh rate is low and it is easy to tell. No 3rd party chromecast or amazon firestick, but the smart tv platform isn't bad. Wasn't thrilled with my purchase, but was definitely worth the $400 as you can't get much better than this for less than $1000.

I bought this TV during the black Friday sale and so far it has been amazing! I normally don't watch a lot of Netflix but the built in apps like Netflix, they allow you to upgrade your account for 4k content. Let me tell you, I finally finished breaking bad after like 2 years. Gaming on it with the Xbox one doesn't unfortunately get the benefits of 4k but you do notice how smooth everything is with the higher refresh rate. Makes some games like watch dogs 2 run a little funny and you can see how it does affect some of the animations, but after a while of playing you stop noticing it. Cod and battlefield both run on it with no problems and will actually take a little getting used to. Using it as a monitor for a PC is possible as it still has a vga plug on but I use an hdmi 2.0 cable and my computer automatically set the output to 4k which looks nice but the refresh rate was locked to 29hrz. I couldn't figure out why windows 10 locked it to such a low rate. As soon as you try to change the hrz it would bump down the quality from 4k to whatever the next setting down would be. Tl:dr Amazing TV for the price. Games look amazing on it and you'll get smooth gameplay. Windows 10 has a 4k setting with terrible refresh rate.

Bought it for a "steal" on black Friday. Not such a deal after a month of having it. The tv randomly froze twice. I unplugged it and it went back to normal, however troubling for a new tv to do that. It also is limited to only the apps that are already on the tv. You cannot search the web or even add Amazon streaming. Google is also out. Good cheap tv for a guest room, or game room. I would not recommend for your primary tv. Spend the extra money for better quality.

Good TV, picture quality is great. Has a few quirks here and there, Netflix picture stopped showing up, but just had to turn the TV off and back on. TV wouldn't turn off or on, but we just had to unplug the TV and plug it back in. Overall not disappointed considering the amount we paid for the TV and with the money we saved we bought the 5 year support plan so if anything goes wrong we are covered! Oh, but you cannot add apps to this TV, it comes with Netflix and a handful of other random apps, but if you want to run any other apps you have to do so from an external device.

TV still works fine after almost 1 year. However the coaxial cable input broke off of the back of the TV. We were within our warranty period so we called support. After a month of jumping through hoops they refused to service it because of where we live (rural). We use HDMI for cable so it's not a big deal but we were extremely disappointed and will not be purchasing another one from Westinghouse. TV looks real, like the people are in the room with you. Xbox one s looks great on it with Ultra Bluray player and 4k gaming.
