DO NOT BUY this TV!! It lasted 1 year 9 months.

On October 20th 2022 the TV started sparking and had to be unplugged because it was about to catch fire. The TV wasn’t even turned on when this happened. Westinghouse only provides a 1 year warranty so it looks like my folks are without a television until I am able to purchase a replacement.

DO NOT BUY WESTINGHOUSE TVs.

WARRANTY PROCESS IS HORRIBLE. THEY MAY OR MAY NOT ANSWER THE PHONE. WILL ASK THE CUSTOMER TO JUMP THROUGH HOOPS FOR REPAIRS/REPLACEMENT. NO ASSISTANCE FROM BEST BUY DURING MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY TIME PERIOD. TV bought in 6/2020. By 10/2020 panel display error (purple line on display). I thought that it would correct itself. Nope. Called and explained issue. Bought Geek Squad protection. Waste. Doesn't kick in until after manufacturer warranty. Ok. So, per manufacturer warranty...submit pics, wait on validation, get refund and replace tv. Now...per manufacturer, I have to take the tv to a recycling station, send in the recycling reciept and wait 3-4 weeks for refund to replace tv. Btw...had tv delivered due to size. Now I have to get take it to recycling center and go without a tv for up to 3-4 weeks (per 2 WESTINGHOUSE customer service reps). I asked the manufacturer about this process and was there anything else that could be done...I was told, "this is our process". So, now what do I do. I have a tv with a purple line going down the left side, and neither Best Buy or the manufacturer seem to care. THE CUSTOMER IE THE ONE WHO PAYS THE PRICE. 4 calls to Best Buy. 3 calls to WESTINGHOUSE. 3 emails to WESTINGHOUSE. It appears as if I am stuck with a purple line on my TV.
