One of my all time favorite movies. Superb performances all around and well deserved Oscars. Looks great in 4K too.

At first after hearing about this movie and the reviews I was still skeptical of it because I wasn't a big fan of music genre movies. However, this is one of my favorite movies now!

You can't go wrong with Whiplash. I had rented it before but wanted to own it. J.K. Simmons is great in this obviously as is Miles Teller. The quality of the Blu-ray is very good.

Bought this for my husband. He just raved about the movie how it grabbed his attention the story was thought provoking not a comedy which is my taste but would recommend to others.

For my estimation this was the best film of 2014. Terrific acting all around combined with a great script. If you're a musician you will absolutely love and connect with this film. 5/5

Liked this movie a lot could not believe what all the teacher got away with as far as disciplining his students.

An excellent movie, can see why it was nominated/won so many awards. Also, a must-have for any percussionist or musician.

This movie is very good. It's very much about jazz and what is required of you to become a great musician. Also it's about how obsession with perfection can become abusive.

in Damien Chazelle. JK Simmons deservedly won an Oscar for his portrayal of a hard nosed music teacher whom pushes Miles Teller's character to the limit.

I had heard about J.K. Simmons performance, which is outstanding, but the story and all performances were excellent. Not one to watch with the kids due to language.
