This is one of those movies you'll either love or hate, and that will be largely based on how prevalent music is in your life, specifically jazz. Story is compelling, acting is top notch (did earn an Oscar after all...). But, if you don't "get" Jazz, this isn't for you.

J.K. Simmons is amazing in this film and he definitely stands out. The music is obviously excellent as well and when you combine that with Simmons' performance, it makes for a really good film.

J.K. Simmons is incredibly intense, playing as the jazz teacher Terence Fletcher, and it's almost terrifying how angry and furious he can get. IF you can handle the intensity, Whiplash makes for an amazing movie deserving of its many awards and award nominations.

Watching Whiplash will make any drummers hands hurt and shoulders burn. Excellent story you will want to watch again.

Great film. It’s a great Blu ray set with the steelbook. Only issue was I had to deal with damaged items and return them to the store and repurchase the steelbook again. Great purchase though.

Miles TEller is a true actor in this performance and JK Simmons portrays a character like no other, truly Oscar deserving.
