    I was hesitant about this film because I cannot stand Miles Teller, but the story told here is excellent, and JK Simmons establishes himself as a premier actor in this film. Worth it for Simmons heartfelt performance alone.

    JK Simmons's best performance as a jazz musician/professor who demands perfection at any cost. Miles Teller also plays a terrific part of the starstruck student. So powerful it sucks you in from beginning to end. Great movie.
