I've always like J.K. Simmons as an actor. Here he gets more of a leading role though not the lead role. This movie is up there in bad language especially some that make me really cringe which is kind of a downer. However, the movie is still a great one for those of you into music drama.

This is a truly special cinematic experience. Hard work can pay off, but its about the journey, not the destination, only the journey. You have to experience it to feel it. And in 4k, there is no better way.

As a graduate of a conservatory of music, I will say that this is what going to music school is like if you turn it up to 11 and roid rage - definitely a "Hollywood" depiction of music school. Nevertheless, still a great film. Would recommend to anyone who loves music - especially jazz.

I heard great things about the movie and had to check it out. I was not disappointed. Movie lived up to its hype and more! Parents and I were engaged throughout the entire movie. The acting was perfect, in addition to the audio and visual aspect of the movie.

I don't own a Blue-Ray player, so it was a great addition that this Blue-Ray disc also came with an included online downloadable version through Sony. Has to be watched/downloaded through Chrome though if you own a Mac. But great quality video and, of course, an amazing film!

"There are no two more damaging words in the English language than, 'good job.'" This movie is not okay. They did not do a good job. No. This movie is amazing. This movie will change how you think and inspire you to push yourself. If you are complacent, you need this movie.

I think this is one of those films, like The Shawshank Redemption that will become a classic as time goes by and this film is shown over and over on cable television. The Blu-ray has some good extras, as well, including the director's original short film of the same title.

This movie delivers on every level , the acting is amazing !!! I can totally relate to this movie , my music teacher was exactly like that except he threw chalk not chairs, lol !!!!!!!!!!!. and the music GREAT!! I love jazz. Must watch will keep you guessing for the next move ....

One of my personal favorite films. Damien Chazelle is a genius. You can feel the emotions throughout the film. Excellent score with perfect music executions. Best Buy was able to deliver product safely.

This is a Intense drama. Oscar worthy performances by the entire cast. I was blown away by the high quality if acting. Jim.Simmons gaves an tour de force performance. I have always known he was a great actor but this confirms it. Excellent video and audio. A great deal at a great price.

This movie is my tempo. What a great performance, huh? If you like drama type movies, check this one out. The picture is Mr. Clean and the audio is Dyno-mite! Great story and great execution.

This movie is quite intense at times and takes you on a roller coaster trying to find out what is happening. I personally would not want to watch it again, but my husband decided to get this DVD as he thinks he will want to re-watch at some point in time.

Saw the trailer for this movie and I thought it was going to be decent, finally got around to watching it as soon as it came out on bluray and I absolutely fell in love with it. Amazing acting, great music, great storyline, great everything. Should have won Best Picture in my opinion..

This is the type of movie that goes under the radar when it should be seen by everyone who loves movies. Excellent performances (Supporting Actor Oscar for Simmons) and a truly engaging story that will keep you glued to the screen from beginning to end.

For starters, but leading actors did a phenomenal job! You truly felt the anger, desperation and determination from each star, and that, along with the well paced story, worked in its favor. Not to mention, the way the cinematography was fantastic!

The acting is incredible, the script is genuine, the raw emotion of the characters and the power in their lines is intense. The cinematography is sublime, I really don’t know what to say. It’s perfect.

Besides the fact that J.K. Simmons is a fellow Detroiter and Tiger's fan, this movie is gripping an an emotional roller coaster at times. Most of us have encountered a teacher or coach with some of the horrid qualities of this character, but he tops the list of sociopathic bullies.

One of my favorite underappreciated movies. JK Simmons owns the movie. As a metalhead, I also enjoy jazz drumming. This movie has some music theory and history. A good movie for the music buff.

Beautiful, cheap bluray steelbook. It popped up in recommended items and once I saw the price I couldn't pass it up. It's less than the standard bluray version of the movie !

I thought this film was fantastic. Some people complained about the instructor being too harsh but it's a film people, not a documentary. I've admired drummers my entire life but haven't played myself. This film has inspired me to get my first drum kit. Loved it!
