Great script, masterfully acted! When I saw this in the theater and the credits started, my brother and I looked at each other and at the same time, just said "wow!" It wasn't a stretch to comment that day that the Oscar was a lock for JK Simmons.

This is one of the most intense, most dramatic movies that I have seen in a long time. The classic jazz music throughout is an added bonus as well. I can understand why the film was nominated for and won so many awards. This is definitely must-see.

Whiplash is my favorite film of the past decade. The acting is superb, especially JK Simmons, the directing is on point and the story is amazing. Definitely recommend it.

Perhaps one of the most entertaining films of 2014 - Whiplash delivers on many levels. The music alone is great, if you have a chance, listen to the soundtrack. JK Simmons gives an excellent performance which may cause for you to hate him a little.

Awesome transfer, and oh man, what a movie this is, definitelt worth the upgrade to 4K and looks phenomenal, this is, withouth a doubt, one of the best musical movies

Great movie with a cool and cheap steelbook. Steelbooks might be a little overated but when it was as cheap as I got it, it's worth it !

solid acting , good pacing. if you like heavy drama this is a good flick, be warned very strong language consistently through the entire movie.

The tension in this movie is so thick! It does a masterful job of showing the tough work of competitive arts and the damage done by ambition taken too far. Cinematography, writing, acting, musical performances--top notch!

One of the few "Oscar Bait" type movies that I found to be extremely enjoyable. it's a crazy movie, and very intense, highly recommended.

Thoroughly entertaining from start to finish with great performances and pace. The steel book is $9 cheaper than the standard blu-ray... That's a win!

This is one of my favorite movies all time. Acting is superb, and I'm a drummer so that makes a big difference. As a drummer though the sound to video editing was not always there, but a great movie.

The ending leaves you with sense of amazement and with some things to assume, but the movie is fantastic! I recommend watching on the best surround sound system / speakers you can, as the Jazz soundtrack will definitely show it off well.

Whiplash was $10 with the ability to buy it at the store instead of waiting for it to be shipped. The movie itself was fantastic (I had rented it before) but at this price it was impossible to pass up. Highly recommended.

After seeing the preview for this movie, I never thought that it would be such a well done and tension filled movie. My wife and i were watching the practice scenes with our fists clenched. Great performances! Great Music! Great Movie!!

Great film, a must own. One of the all time best supporting actor performances by J. K. Simmons. A truly great film about giving everything to be the best and the people who push you to do it. A classic.
