for being a musician I can feel the pain the main character goes through for wanting to be the best, its a good movie. and if you're a drummer you should love it.

If you're offended by language, this movie is not for you. If you like a great story, buy and watch this movie. Even better if you're a percussionist!

Whiplash earned Oscars for Supporting Actor, Sound Mixing and Film Editing. The supporting actor award went to J.K.Simmons who is magnificent in this film about musical achievement. Andrew, played by Miles Teller, is relentlessly and brutally "guided" by Terence Fletcher (Simmons). Beware, this is a very tense movie!

I don't know what else to say but this movie is not for the weak of heart. Some really crazy intense scenes!! Well acted,directed, edited, etc.

When I first watched this movie I was kind of shocked but it was a great story great acting one-of-a-kind movie.

This movie brought back painful memories from when I used to be in music school. I had a teacher similar to the one in the movie and he was tough.

It was so hard to watch this abusive music teacher - I almost didn't make it through the movie! Great acting and wonderful music. Quality blu-ray.
