Best movie of the year!

A well-deserved Oscar win for J.K. Simmons

But there's a LOT more to it than that, which repeat viewings will doubtless reveal.

Miles Teller is does his best work in this one

He is very convincing as an aspiring jazz drummer at a prestigious school. He is pushed to his limits by a cruel and mean composer who is trying to get the very best out of his musicians.
