JK Simmons is one of my favorite actors and he does not disappoint as an obsessive instructor. Miles teller also shines as a young drummer consumed by his craft.

I am not a fan of jazz but that is really irrelevant to this movie. Characters are engrossing in their awfulness to others but their motivations are clear and believable. Incredible ending.
