When it died a few years back, i didn't even bother to replace it. Browsing around,, "low profile" caught my attention. I was able to install this myself.

My current fan hood is not vented through side of house nor through my attic as needed for this product. Instructions say I would need to buy parts not included & when I attempted to order it the part # did not exist. I also would need to hire an electrician to install an outlet in above cabinet. Overall, I would have to pay an electrician & obtain parts that Whirlpool website says does not exist. I expected it to be an easy do it yourself install with removing the existing hood and replace it with the microwave - this was NOT the case!

I like the way it looks and that it gives more room over the stove. What I am not that happy with is that it doesn't seem to reheat evenly and that it is a bit high and I have to stand on tip toe to see what I have put into it.
