Excellent size. Very good exhaust and convenient cooking area in the microwave.

Love the fact that this microwave is low-profile and fits over my range neatly. The compact design looks sharp above my new drop-in range. I DON'T like the fact that I am still awaiting the full, proper install of the product (purchased 5/27, 7 weeks ago) in order for it to also function as a replacement for my vent-a-hood (which was the primary purpose for its selection in the first place). It was installed improperly (by Best Buy's hires), and therefore cycles air back into the kitchen instead of through the ceiling and roof (see photo). I have been waiting for installment of the missing part (baffle, I believe) and BB has not been following up with me on the progress as needed. I am just about ready for them to come and take this item back.

Black Model without the stainless skin. Plastic at the bottom of the door started cracking after about a month. Just small lines but after using for less than one year, we have plastic pieces falling off the bottom of the door trip below the window area. Need to get this resolved/replaced but not point in replacing the door if the plastic will just crack again. I would have expected Whirpool to have used the phenolic type of plastic used in oven doors at the top of the black units where the handle attaches. These never crack so why would they use a cheaper plastic on a microwave that is supposed to be used above a cooktop.

I pulled it out of the box and one of the sides is damaged. The mounting will cover most of it. I’m debating on whether or not to have it replaced. I’m knee deep in the install since I’ve removed the old microwave. I will update after the install is completed

Not a fan of this microwave. It’s wider than the old one and not as long so now the backsplash does not meet up with the microwave. You have to open the door just to set the timer.

Dent on back corner, had to return. Heavy to reload in box and return to store. Then order another, pick up, deliver, unbox, all again.

Quite a bit louder than the one it replaced but we like the features so far.

I've been waiting for this low profile Over the range microwave for a few years already. They used to make these more often but then every company went the bigger is better way and I was stock with an Whirlpool unit that hung only 15 inches above the stove. Not a good thing if you wanna keep your microwave free from grease and have proper venting while cooking. This 7011 unit is great, low profile that now sits whole 20 inches above the stove. Planty room to pull in the cooking steams and remain clean from oil and grease. The install was a little tricky for me as the cabinet mounting holes required a minimum 12 inches distance away from the back wall but my old cabinets are only 12 inches away so the drilled holes ended up being right next to the end rim of the cabinet and prevented me from easily using the provided washers. I ended up cutting into the cabinet rim to be able to slide the washer into it and aligning the whole with the mounting bolt. In the end its a very strong hold. Another problem with the install was that the none of the wall mounting holes aligned with the studs in the wall and I didnt wanna use the ankers if I didn't have to so I decided not to use any of the pre-drilled mounting holes and drilled 4 holes through the metal mounting bracket directly into the studs, two at the top of the bracket and two at the bottom. In the end much stronger install then using the wall ankers in my opinion. I love this microwave. It looks great giving an updated look to an outdated kitchen, lol, and prevented me from cutting down the cabinets to be able to fit regular size microwave. p.s. Just be ready to do something with the extra space on the back wall that is left under the microwave . Mine left a bare wall so before installing the new unit I had to place some stone tiles where the regular tiles were missing, just an extra time spent but make sure to plan for that when replacing a larger unit with this one. Microwave looks nice but cost more than It should. Not fingerprint resistant the turn table tray does not stay in place ive had a 30$ microwave that had no issues with the tray moving causing food to spill over while heating up

Disgusting, The new microwave was damaged as you can see by the picture I have supplied. I don't think the microwave could even be sold as "As Is." Probably was also damaged internally. The delivery people were extremely courteous and professional. Apologized for the inconvenience. They put the damaged goods back on the truck.

I purchase this microwave for about two weeks ago. The microwave looks great in my kitchen. It fit in my kitchen very well for the little cabinet space we had. It’s easy to clean. The instructions were a little difficult to understand. My husband was able to get the microwave install in a day, with a little help of YouTube. I wish the display would show the microwaves functions before purchasing the microwave at Best Buy. There are a few things that are negative about the microwave. First of all the light is not very bright. The light is to dim for the two selections on it. If I do not have my kitchen lights on I would not be able to see what I’m cooking. My old hood had a better light. The vent hood does not pull out all the smoke out. I tried it with the carbon filters in and without the carbon filters my house was still full of smoke. The exhaust fan is very loud compared to my old vent hood. I read everyone’s review before I purchased it. The reviews were raving about it but I’m not too happy with it. I wish I went with a different system.

This unit is the perfect size for a small space. Looks and works great. Some great features like the easy open for example. Fans blow even harder then the old hood and installation was easier than I expected. Very pleased.

The height was my main concern. While this over the range microwave was quite a bit more expensive than most, the 10” height is what I was looking for. I did not pay attention to the depth and at 18 1/2” a good bit deeper than standard, but I’ve gotten used to that. I like the fact that the touch pad is inside the door, making for a more streamlined facade. However, the button to open electronically is an unnecessary feature which seems like one more thing to go wrong. I have been unsuccessful in getting through Whirlpool’s phone tree to find out if manual opening is contraindicated. I miss the 30 second button and the ability to just hit 1 - 6 to get 1 - 6 minutes instantly.

Bought this to replace a much larger 20 year old GE Profile. The low profile is great. It frees up so much space over the range/stove top. It's also sleek, shiny and quiet. The modern chimes and touch screen are really nice. The only downside was the directions are very complicated and took multiple times reading to fully understand. It would have been easier if the instructions said simply use the template to drill holes and securely attach the mounting bracket so it is level front to back and side to side. As it is I didn't see anyplace it said to check level front to back, and since my cabinet has a slight lip on the front the microwave is a little lower in the front than in the back. It doesn't affect use so I'll probably leave it because it is a heavy job lifting it into the space. It fits perfectly and looks great!

This is my first review ever. Surprised my wife for Christmas and then my son and I did the installation Christmas Day. We specifically needed a low profile microwave and the Whirlpool 1.1 cu. ft. was exactly what I was looking for. Set up was easy, backplate instructions are well written and easy to follow. Took us about 20 minutes to mount. Best feature for me is the "sensor" setting when cooking or reheating your food. Also for those like me who are cooking challenged works like a charm. Only thing I would change is maybe the addition of brighter light , the exhaust fan does a great job and is you can hardly hear it, our old exhaust hood sounded like a jet engine on take-off. Guys at Best Buy loaded the microwave right into my trunk, no touch no contact...thanks guys .

Wanted to replace my older range hood with a microwave. A traditional microwave would have hung too low and made it hard to access back burners on stove. This microwave is low profile and looks great and allows access to back of stove. If your home was built with microwave already above stove than this microwave isn’t necessary. As far as looks and operations it works great, has light on bottom to illuminate stove and a four speed exhaust fan than can be configured to recirculate or duct outside. Plenty of room inside and it’s super quiet. The fingerprint resistance model is best option.

Love this microwave- I really love it because I have a very small kitchen and it’s perfect. It’s the nicest microwave I’ve ever owned.

Needed a low profile microwave in order to have enough room between the gas burners and the over-the-range microwave. Very easy to use, and very powerful ventilation system. Installing this in place of our standard range hood vent was not easy. Be sure you read all of the install instructions more than once, and search you tube for how-to videos. This microwave is very heavy 70+ pounds, and will require more than one person to install.

The only one that fits in the hood, The microwave is super quiet and good at heating. Hood is amazing if you don’t have vents as the carbon filter takes all the smell away. It’s noisy but less than my old hood, at low it’s very quiet. The led light could be improved
