This fits perfectly over my gas range oven. It looks nice and sleek. Quiet fans. It's important to have the Geek Squad professional installer to install and do all of the needed work which I'm glad I had; they removed old microwave, measured & installed it perfectly. A microwave is heavy so obviously there'll be 2 people needed to mount it.

I really like this low profile microwave. I bought a white one a couple of years ago and then when I got divorced and got my own place, I bought another one in stainless steel because I liked it so much. I gives you so much more room over the stove. I had to replace the tile in the spot where the big old microwave was, but it was worth it.

So glad we finally found something that fits on our space. The cabinets are too low for a full size and out counter space is limited. This is perfect. I have been using it for over a year and have yet to heat anything that doesn’t fit. It sticks out a little more than a regular microwave, but no more than our range hood use to. Cooks evenly.

I purchased this microwave to replace a recirculating hood. The height of a traditional unit is too tall to fit over my stovetop and under the overhead cabinet without taking up a lot of clearance. This unit fits perfectly! It is deeper than a traditional over the range microwave because it recirculates from the top rather than the bottom, but I'm fine with that to get it off the countertop.

i thought I would like the shorter profile but it turns out that it sticks out farther than the traditional models making it harder to access the cabinets above. It is also harder to reach into and so not as easy to place the stuff to be heated without tipping the rotating plate off its base. Not a good choice for short people. You also have to open the door to set the timer. I prefer the control panel on the outside like traditional microwaves

Was looking for a microwave that would fit above my range and not hang too low. Also needed it to vent. I am so happy and grateful someone finally made a microwave with theses dimensions. It is wide enough for a full large plate and even though it is not very tall it fits a large Pyrex dish. The fan is great, cooks well and looks more sleek then a regular microwave. I absolutely love it.

It looks nice in the very small kitchen HOWEVER before I even used it I had to have Whirlpool repair to service because the mounting bracket (very flimsy & poor design) broke upon installation. Even the repair man agreed. So wound up paying full price since purchased on sale but the warranty does not cover anything that occurs during installation. So far so good has only been up a week. It is has exhaust and light and I have more counter space now that I have it above the range.

    Good Form Factor, Poor cfm

I bought this microwave because it fit a couple of needs: a) It could be vented outside, and our hood at the time was a ‘blow back in the face’ variety. b) it replaced a psychotic countertop LG microwave (a different review) in a form factor that freed counter space without infringing over range space beyond aforementioned crappy hood. This microwave took awhile to install, because I had to cut various holes in the siding & cabinets, configure ports, ensure good anchoring, etc. FYI- If you have a stud anywhere near the center of your alcove, you have to go up through the upper cabinet and offset the outlet- no options on direct exhausting. Once installed, the unit functions flawlessly as a microwave once you’ve gotten used to the interior keypad. My main beef is that, after all that venting work, it moves very little air relative to the noise it makes. You’ll have to turn up the TV 2-3 notches to overcome all industrious sounding movement of air, but when you hold your hand up to the intakes (with Carbon filters removed even), you sense a movement of air but not a direction. Generate some smoke outta the oven and you’ll see that a portion of it lazily heads out the hood, while the rest billows into the kitchen to be removed on the micro’s own sweet schedule. I recommend this appliance as a unique space-saving microwave form factor. As a hood, I’d look elsewhere.

I fell in love with the low profile microwave as soon as I saw it. I saw 2 versions which looked similar at Best Buy, I opted fo this one since it had a couple other items the other did not (steam option, not able to see finger prints, interior has been made with an easier to clean coating). The light that shines on the top of the stove is white (LED) and as a 50 something with older eyes, it makes it so easy to see. It took a while to get used to the unit jutting out further from the cupboards, than the our older microwave oven, but we quickly adjusted to it, but others may want to measure your space to see if that makes a difference. 2 days after install, the button to push to open the door suddenly stopped working. I noticed another thread on this unit in Best Buy that someone else had that same problem and they were told to contact Whirlpool. Yes you can still open the door by pulling it open but the button to open was a nice touch especially if you have something in your hands to place in the oven! It was so much easier to push a button than to pull open the door. Yes! It's trivial, but I expected it to work a few years before it stopped working! I paid a lot of money for this microwave ( $449) and had to wait almost a month to have it shipped to me (purchased on 9/11, but not received til 10/11). Hopefully I will not end up with buyers regret!? Really too soon to know if I would truly recommend to a friend.....

This microwave was definitely more than a standard due to the low profile/hood combination... but it has been totally worth it. Its interior height has not been a problem for typical use, it's quiet, and performs well. Only thing that I wish (although IDK if it's possible) is if the exhaust fan could be a bit quieter. Needless to say, it's solid. Would recommend.
