We have been slowly replacing the stock appliances at our home with better rated appliances that are also a good value, have certain functions and has nice aesthetics. We went with this model for the Whirlpool reputation. Self installation was only slightly tricky for us amateur DIYers. Everything seemed fine and we even got used to the fan automatically turning on if the door handle became too warm from any stovetop cooking we did without turning the Dan on ourselves. This week, 1.5 years after we bought it, it began acting up with popping noise like we put a metal object in there even though we did not. The fan sounded harsher. It seemed ok after we turned off any of the burners that coincidentally were on. It got worse though as the week progressed and we are nervous to use it as it sounds like it will explode or catch fire. Given that it’s out of warranty it’s possible we will have to replace it vs repairing it since repairing it will most likely equal the cost of buying another one.
