    When I first brought it the metal rack would spark so I took it out. I have had the item for five years now and have noticed the lining on the inside is breaking away.

    Lemon without a lemon law

    Worse than poor. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this microwave or anything Whirlpool for that matter. We purchased same microwave in July of 2022. We have had 4 service calls, each time they come out have to order a part and its weeks before they come out to install and the microwave still doesn't work. Just called Whirlpool again and they informed us it is no longer under warranty. The unit is garbage and they won't replace the unit. At the same time we purchased a Maytag refrigerator. Have had at least 4 calls on the regrigerator; same scenario. Doors do not line up evenly, doors swing fully open (not level) and all they can say is there is nothing they can do about it; no way to level it to prevent it from happening. Amazing I have same refrigerator in a different location and now issues. The company they have servicing their faulty equipment are rude and could care less if they fix the product.

    This microwave is average. I have had it for about 1 month. It cooks well. It is loud when in operation. The fan is very loud. The product is just OK.

    Unhappy with my purchase

    The microwave looks great but the door hinges were damaged. We went through so much trouble to get this microwave because it was out of stock, then had to pick it up and now we have to go to best buy for the third time to return it. We already drilled through the cabinet and the wall to hook it up. Not to mention we lost so much time.

    Don't Buy Whirlpool Appliances

    Junk. Lasted about 4 years. Also not happy that Best Buy sent me one that had been made the year before I bought and installed this model. The door would auto close (who knows maybe a feature but if it is I didn't like it) and it squeaked from day one. I should of had it replaced but never made the effort, now as I buy another microwave (this time from Kitchen Aid). Whirlpool also has the worst ice makers in their refrigerators.

    Blower motor fan NEVER worked

    Bought in March, finally got hooked up in May. The fan NEVER worked in it. Had a repair guy come up tonight sent BY whirlpool and he has to replace entire motor. You'd think it would have been checked out before it left the assembly line? Very disappointed. Have to take Microwave off to have this fixed so more hassle and headache. My 15 year old microwave works better than this. Hopefully this will solve the issue and I can move on. To say I am disappointed is a very big understatement.

    Door cracks

    I am on my second one of these microwaves, after a couple years of use the plastic on the door cracks and the whole door falls apart. The cost of a replacement door is more than a new microwave. I’ve had to duct tape the door just so I could still use the microwave.

    Pickup a hassle

    Product was good the pickup not so much. Kids who have no clue what’s going on for a simple pick up. More hassle than it’s worth

    Lasted 4 years with light use

    The Whirlpool 1.9 cubic foot microwave lasted 4 years and 1 month with lite use. Should have lasted 8 to 10 years.

    Magnetron failed twice in the first year!

    Today, we had our Whirlpool microwave fixed for the second time since purchasing it less than a year ago. The magnetron has failed twice in 12 months! At the time of purchase, the microwave cost about $250. Although I understand that this is not a high-end unit, the reviews were positive, and we felt that we could trust the Whirlpool brand. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect an appliance to last more than seven months without breaking and especially anticipated it lasting more than 12 months before going down a second time. I'm glad the one-year manufacture's warranty covered these two repairs (which would have cost us $320 each time - parts and labor). Now that the warranty is over, are we in for another costly repair in 6-12 months? Save yourself the hassle and pass on this microwave!

    Its average for this price but lighting is weak

    So far so good but the lighting is very basic and not as good as our last unit. And would it be so hard to light the keypad?

    Not worth it to last only 2 yrs

    Microwave was okay until the passed 2 months. Sensor cooking hasn't worked since day 1 so never have known to miss it. However, now it says door is open when it's not. Found after many times of hitting factory reset it fixed it. Unfortunately, that lasted only a few weeks. Being quarantined for 3 weeks with kids and no microwave has been challenging. I've checked all three door switches and the fuse but all tested fine. So sad to have to invest in another microwave when this was only 2.5 yrs old. The one it replaced was 18 yrs and never skipped a beat. But I just had to be fancy and get one over the range. Urgh. Won't buy another Whirpool, looking on line Whirlpool microwave door switches are known for going out. Just wish that was my problem!

    Errors/ issues 1 month after service plan expired

    We ordered this product in May 2020. It was delivered in July 2020. The protection plan expired July 2023 and by August an error code started flashing that could not be cleared.

    replaced like for like of a microwave that failed after only 8 years of home use. But didn't want to have to re-work my home to fit a different model over my range

    After only 4 years of light use the display went out. You can press buttons and cook in it - you just can’t see what numbers you’ve pushed…no display. The one we have before this was 9 years old without a problem just switched to stainless. Way to go Whirlpool/Kenmore! Quality declining.

    Bad quality, broke down after three years

    This microwave came with my brand new condo and after only three years of use, it has stopped heating anything up. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent over a repairman to check it out and it turns out that the cost to repair it would cost more than a new microwave. Beware, Whirlpool makes junk microwaves. All the good reviews have only had it for a minimal amount of time. Microwaves should not break down after only three years.

    Two years and a few months since purchase, it's throwing a humidity sensor error. The part costs a few hundred so this microwave will need to be replaced far sooner than expected.
