    DON'T BUY WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATORS! THEY DON'T WORK RIGHT FROM DAY ONE! I bought this to replace another broken Whirlpool refrigerator. They don't last more than 6 years tops. This one has NEVER froze the ice cream in the freezer yet freezes the items on top shelf. Refrigerator is never colder than 50 degrees so all my food goes bad quicker. Bad refrigerator seals with gaps. I should've sent it back from the second day. Stupid me. The bottom grill fell off the second week we owned it. It started leaking water all over inside fridge within 2 months and still leaks all over.

    I loved purchasing a refrigerator for my grandmothers home, it was made super simple, all we needed to do was wait for the third day after we set the order for the refrigerator to arrive and get installed, would do it all over again.

    My experience has been a nightmare

    This adventure went sour from the very beginning my 3-day delivery ended up being 2 weeks. They had all these rules and regulations about the delivery I complied. When they showed up to deliver the refrigerator it was laying down in the back of the truck had already been removed from the box and had several dents. Then they informed me they couldn't deliver it because I didn't have a sidewalk I'll ask them to do is bring it in the house. Then they informed me they couldn't pick it up more than 6 inches off the ground so sliding it in my sliding glass doors in the back of my house was not possible. As per their agreement they said they would remove the doors to be able to bring it in my house if necessary. Then they said they couldn't take the doors off the refrigerator because they didn't have any tools. Then they made me remove my front door so they can bring it in my house. Now after reporting all the damage they agreed to knock another $50 off the refrigerator. Okay so I installed refrigerator where it belonged and almost 2 years to the delivery date the refrigerator failed stop Cooling. Fortunately about an extended warranty plan that will pull refrigerator was only warrantied for 12 months. So I called Best Buy and they came out looked it over decided they needed parts. The first time they needed Parts they ordered the wrong part. By by the time they came out the second time they decided it needed a different part so they had to reorder. So then the holidays were approaching and the priority was vacations and whatever else but not my refrigerator. So then finally after about 3 months, they install the new parts. It lasted for about 10 days and then failed again. I reported it I was told that if the guy came out to fix it and was not able to fix it they'd give me another refrigerator. The gentleman came out couldn't fix it but yet they weren't going to give me another refrigerator. So then they ordered some more parts. The repair of my refrigerator was at their convenience they made minimal effort to repair it at my convenience because I have to work for a living I have bills to pay. So then gentleman comes out third time makes the repair and so far so good at this point I don't have some of the issues some of the other people have reported did have a loud gurgling noise which was concluded as leaking freon. Now it's been 6 months since I called to get my refrigerator fixed rental on the refrigerator is a hundred bucks a month. Got no reimbursement wasn't even question about it they said there was a food spoilage reimbursement. But to try to claim it was utterly impossible because of the requirements. I used to think very highly at Best Buy but for some reason the company's not what it used to be. I thought the Geek Squad repair service was from my local store. I went to talk to the store manager and found out that the Geek Squad even though it was a portion of Best Buy is not connected with my store and is a total separate entity. I don't really have any problem with the service technician they seem to be fairly knowledgeable and capable. I did have a problem with management they weren't really concerned that the customer had an issue but they will take care of it when they got around to it.

    Cheap and Ineffective Door Seals

    Not happy with this fridge and would. It recommend it. The biggest issue is that the seal that keeps the freezer and fridge door closed is weak and cheap. We already had the fridge door replaced once because the seal was so bad the door would not stay closed. The replacement is ok - the door doesn’t open on its own anymore but you do need to give it a good push to ensure it stays closed. Also, the seal is just not tight in some area. I can feel very cold air escaping when I put my hand near some of the edges.

    Fridge is ok. But The men that came to move in and install new fridge and remove old Fridge were amazing! My apartment is so small and could nit get in the back door. Kudos to both of them For getting Fridge in and out without hesitation and very quickly!

    This is a pretty standard no frills refrigerator. Just what my wife wanted. The shelves are nice and the interior light is very nice. It does have a noticeable hum but not too loud to be bothersome. We did have a several week wait for delivery but we had a backup refrigerator in the garage we could use. Delivery and install were fine. We paid extra for the ice maker which works as well.

    When our old refrigerator died (it had 23 years of use), I knew it was time for a new one. We didn’t want to mess around with any complicated technology so we went for a simple top freezer model, and settled on Whirlpool. This name was synonymous with reliability in my book. Unfortunately, it appears that there has been some slippage at this manufacturer. We have had this model for 24 days now, and it has yet to cool to the proper temperature in the refrigerator for more than a couple of hours. We haven’t been able to use it for food storage yet. So far there have been two service calls with one more scheduled for this week. It is unbelievable to me to purchase a very simple, brand-new model of a refrigerator and not be able to use it for three weeks. I have to constantly monitor and record the temperatures in order to provide more detail to the service representative. I asked today if we could just have a replacement but was provided no estimate on when or if they might happen. To say I am disappointed is putting it mildly. I was told I can’t have a new one yet. I am almost to the point of just wanting my money back and buying a totally different brand. If anyone has any advice on this please comment and let me know. This is also a warning – for food safety reasons, refrigerators need to be below 40 degrees and freezers at 0. I would hate to see anyone buy this brand new, not check it out as thoroughly as I did, and become ill. Another factor to this is that it’s quite inconvenient to schedule service, since I work full time and the service technicians are only available during the day, during the week. I buy everything through Best Buy and I don't blame them for this, I believe it is the Manufacturer's responsibility to fix this.

    You Have To Watch It Carefully

    Our last refrigerator was almost 25 years old when when it stopped working. We went to our local Best Buy to shop for a replacement and we decided on this one. It has a nice large top freezer which I really love and the refrigerator is nice and wide also with plenty of room. We're very happy with the size, however, it's the electrical aspect of the unit that has left us very disappointed. After just 8 months of use we noticed it wasn't cooling like it should. We contacted Best Buy and they gave us the number to Whirlpool. Long story short...repair man came out but since there was a thick build up of ice inside the back wall of the freezer he couldn't tell the exact problem but he knew it would definitely be one of 3 parts. We had to leave the fridge unplugged for about 36 hours to give the ice time to melt at that time we were able to plug it back in and use it like normal while we waited for the parts to come in. A week and a half later the repair man came back out... in that short period of time ice was already building up again. He diagnosed the problem as the circuit board. He replaced it and so far so good. I'm not really comfortable enough to recommend the product to someone else and it makes me question Whirlpool products which is a shame because Whirlpool has always been a trusted name.

    Water was collecting in the fridge. It was not staying sufficiently cool. Frost began accumulating in the freezer. Best Buy said they could do nothing to help me. Whirlpool made me wait on hold for about 45 minutes and gave me a phone number of a service company to call. It turned out to be the wrong phone number. Now im back at square one. Needless to say I'm not happy with either Best Buy or Whirlpool.

    We are very happy with Best Buy and very unhappy with this Whirlpool refrigerator. We keep it ONLY because we have a small space for our refrigerator and it is the only model that will fit in this space in our house, not apartment. We tried 2 times with this model. The first time the refrigerator was so loud we could hear it from 2 rooms away so we returned it for another try. As stated by others, this refrigerator does not stay cool. Even on the coldest setting it is above the recommended food safety of 40 degrees. I put groceries in today at 2:00 and the temperature was 43 degrees. Tonight a 6:00 it has only gone down to 41 degrees. This is with minimal opening and closing of the door. I try not to keep too many uncooked meats in it for this reason. We've had this model since February. The summer months have been a challenge to keep our food cool enough to be safe. I also have problems with the freezer. My second thermometer often records 10 degrees. The Best Buy repair people are well aware of problems with this product. Whirlpool, can't you make a smaller model refrigerator that keeps foods at their proper food safety temperature?
