    Space issues

    A couple of negative complaints. First about the attached images. One clearly shows a fullsize frozen pizza laying flat in the freezer. This is not possible, as it is far too narrow. So the image is misleading and false advertising. Instead, the pizza has to stand up vertically, and still even needs a shelf removed. Second, about the fridge itself. It would be nice if there were more options for adjustable shelves, like having optional shelf hooks every inch for both the refrigerator and freezer. With the existing shelf heights, even a 1/2 gallon of milk will not fit without removing one of the shelves.

    Very disappointed in Whirlpool refrigerator

    I bought this refrigerator in January, 2023. It is very disappointing. The top shelf is too shallow for standard size bottles of orange juice. Though I do not put anything closer than 9 inches to the vent in the upper left of the refrigerator, it has frozen sodas, juice and chicken broth; I mean frozen solid! None of the shelves are adjustable, so there is no way to organize the frig, aside from by size. The door shelves show gaps on either side where they attach; therefore, they slip. I’ve had the upper one slip out, hit the lower one, thereby knocking both shelves and all contents to the floor, twice in 4 months. The light switch in the freezer sticks, about 50% of the time; “all you have to do” is use a finger to pull it out, right? The doors cannot be opened such as to get the door shelves fully out of the way, so to add or remove food, you have to wrap your arm around a corner. The freezer side is next to a wall, so while it looks like the door is open greater than 90 degrees, the space to reach into is actually only about 12 inches; reaching the back of the freezer must be done by feel. I’m a pretty thin person, and very athletic, so I manage with only mid-level frustration. My man, however, is 6’5”, 240 pounds; it is virtually impossible for him to navigate in the freezer. This takes my frustration level to high, as I have to assist every time he need something. The bottom of the frig has these “feet” that are perfect for collecting dirt/ shaped like small L-shaped, 1/2 inch deep trays; not conducive to easy cleaning (guess I should have noticed this before I bought it). The ice-maker seems to be producing enough ice, but I wonder how it will do when the Texas summer increases demand). It runs perfectly quietly. I am very, very disappointed in this $1,700.00 purchase (had to pay extra for white). I suspect all the Whirlpool refrigerators may suffer these same design flaws.

    When the men showed up they didn't waste a minute.They went above and beyond their job duties.I was completely happy with the installation process.They were kind and respectful delivery men.I am very satisfied with the refrigerator. It has enough room and is quite quiet.Thank you for making my experience with Best Buy a memorable experience.

    I replaced the old Whirlpool fridge with this recent one. The old school faded out white fridge was still working, both freezer and fridge side, however the handles to both had broken off from many years of wear and tear. Needless to say the new black stainless steel works well, does what its suppose to. I'm writing this review nearly two years later just to make sure it was as durable as the previous. So far so good, I'm satisfied with the purchase.

    Happy to find this item in stock at Best Buy. It was the only side by side that would fit in our space without removing cabinets. It arrived on time but one door would not seal. Best Buy was quick to get another refrigerator out to us and make a swap.

    DO NOT BUY FROM BEST BUY!!! Horrible customer service!!! My first delivery never came and had to make multiple calls to find out it was damaged. When it was rescheduled they would not do the waterline install the same day. I cancelled installation but had to call multiple times to get a complete refund for that portion. Upon cleaning the unit before use I found that it was damaged and then sloppily calked. They brought another dented unit. I had to take it as the other fridge was being removed. I called and asked for a manager and nobody ever called. Called the next day and they still won’t let me talk to a manager but offered me a discount for the dent. I have still never been reimbursed. The fridge is definitely not smudge proof. The main shelves can’t be adjusted for height. The sides are painted rather than stainless steel. It’s not the best not the worst but I guarantee you will find better service at any other company. They carry this model at Lowes.

    I purchased this fridge and bundled my new microwave and dishwasher based on the fridge I decided on. I had previously had a brand new GE fridge, microwave and dishwasher that was part of my deal when I closed on my new home almost 10 years ago (so my old appliances were free) and the freezer portion of the fridge went out. I ended up switching to this brand and fridge based off of price point and reviews. Since my old free fridge lasted almost 10 years and whirlpool is a reputable brand, we didn't think we would run into any issues. I regret not reading more of the negative reviews because had I read them, I would've steered clear. I had this fridge for 3 weeks. From the beginning delivery was a mess. My window for delivery was between 12-2pm and they were running so far behind schedule they kept calling to notify me my delivery time was being changed. I went from a 12-2pm delivery window to them not showing up until 8:40 pm. Fast forward, everything is delivered and installed. Fridge Pros: *I really liked the size of the ice cubes. Thats where it ends. Fridge Cons: *Shelves are glass and preset so you cannot adjust height preference in between shelves. This made it difficult to store drinks, exactly as previous reviewer stated. *Shelves also did not extend all the way back to butt up against the back of the fridge leaving gaps, so we had to make sure nothing small that would fall through were placed at the back of the shelf. *Storage capacity felt a lot smaller than old fridge with the same dimensions. *Fridge was extremely loud! Like a muffled motor right in your house. *Freezer section stopped working after only 3 WEEKS! So I had to do my first major appliance exchange for a new fridge. We ended up going back to a GE brand fridge that costed a bit more, but overall we are much more satisfied with the new fridge. I am however disappointed that now I have different brands for my appliances and I had to go through the hassle of getting 2 fridges replaced. I will say however that customer service was really great in assisting with the whole exchange process.

    Needed a fridge to fit my space so I had limited options. Water dispenser is slow. Drawers feel cheap. Freezer space is small due to big ice compartment.

    Small Refrigerator

    We chose this is a refrigerator because it fits into smaller spaces, and we only had two choices. Our previous fridge held so much more, but had a small ice maker instead of the ice and water dispenser. I'm finding this refrigerator holds barely enough for a week's groceries for two people (we eat at home all the time). It is also difficult to find things, because there isn't enough room to organize AND see things. The shelves are not adjustable (the door shelves are), so the only place to put milk is in the door or on the top shelf. Some juices will only fit in the door. We also have had trouble with things freezing in the fridge. We had to move the temperature in the fridge to "two checks" instead of the recommended "three checks." If you need a small refrigerator as we did, this one is fine. Adjustable shelves would have been nice.

    I was worried about getting a side by side fridge with the limited space I have, but this fits nicely in my old kitchen. The fridge side fits a medium/large pizza and the water line to the freezer was easy to connect.

    STAY AWAY.... PLEASE READ!!

    This entire refrigerator has been a nightmare. I have a pantry on the side and cabinets above so i was very limited to what I could buy because of the size. This was the only fridge with the features that I wanted, and that would more importantly fit. I originally order in black. The first one came and was dented so they needed to reorder. The night before it was supposed to come, I got a call saying it would be another month before it came in. The next morning I went up to Best Buy to get it in the stainless color, of course, I had to pay an extra $200 but oh well. After the install, I noticed that items in the fridge were freezing. I tried moving things to different shelves. After about a month after I called Best Buy to have someone come out an look at it (I bought the extended service plan) they told me I had to contact whirlpool. So I did, and they sent out the service providers they use - Platinum Factory Service. The tech came and put a piece of foil over one of the vents in the back.... yes, foil! He said that the fridge pulls air from the freezer to pull the air in the fridge. It worked for a while, then I noticed I had more frozen food. I called back again (this is May now). Again, they sent PFS out again and of course you have to wait a week each time. This time he replaced the diffuser damper door. It worked until around last week and I had more frozen food. This is now July and the problem wasn’t fixed. Being livid after throwing hundreds of dollars of food away i called again. The supervisor from whirlpool sent me a $50 check to cover for food loss - that didn’t even make a dent. She was going to send PFS out yet again and of course a week. I told her I wasn’t waiting and wanted someone out that week. She ended up sending someone out the next day where this time he raised the freezer temp a setting colder because he said that if the freezer was colder the fan would pull cooler air in the fridge and the fan wouldn’t run as long.... this was not a fix. A few days later.... frozen food. I called whirlpool again where i talked to several people that told me the couldn’t replace my fridge of give me my money back. The one lady told me that someone else i talked to wrote that I was rude and was screaming. I most certainly was not.. I was upset as any consumer would be who pays over $1300 for a product that doesn’t work. I finally spoke to someone who sent out another service provider. They guy came out today and he told me that the guy who replaced the damper door didn’t hook it in the entire way and was constantly letting in a little bit of really cold air from the freezer. We will see if it works now. I wouldn’t recommend this product or any whirlpool product. Their customer service is a complete joke and the warranty company, Platinum Factory service shouldn’t be in business. Whirlpool doesn’t stand behind their products at all. I am buying a product from them, and they won’t replace or give me my money back for a product that is faulty. Then they write in the file about me that I am upset, of course I am! I was never rude, of course my voice gets heated as anyone’s would be dealing with this garbage. Shame on you whirlpool. This will be the last whirlpool product I ever buy.
