Customers commend the 22 Cu. Ft. Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator for its overall performance, impressive capacity, suitable size, normal noise level, great design, and spot-on temperature control. The LED lighting is also a highlight for many users. However, some customers have noted that the door can be hard to open and that the surface is prone to showing fingerprints.

Great Appliance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this unit for about three months now. Lots of space, well lit and keeps everything cold. A bit noisy, but that doesn't bother me in the least. Very happy so far.

I Won't Buy a Whirlpool Again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am pretty disappointed with this refrigerator. Within two weeks of having it installed, the ice maker stopped working due to a faulty water intake valve. Additionally, the door, once filled with items, has become really heavy, meaning it must be held to prevent it from swinging back and damaging the hinge. In general, I've decided to not buy a Whirlpool refrigerator again. The last one I had lasted not quite four years before it stopped working and required about a thousand dollars in repairs.. so I opted to buy this one and I really wish I would have chosen a different brand. Whirlpool used to be reliable, but they as well as most appliance makers now, seem to be making really sup-par products.

Mrs.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not happy with refrigerator. The fridge door swings open so fast and bottles on door seems ready to fall out. Sometimes it's a chore trying to open the door. The old Kenmore worked so much better.

Ice maker fails AGAIN, and AGAIN, and AGAIN
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like the unit. Runs quiet and keeps the food longer than my old fridge. BUT the ice maker broke, was leaking water inside. I called Geek and they sent a guy who said he fixed it and sold ne a $150 plan that woyld eliminate diagnostic fees going forwar. His repair last two weeks. He came back, with no parts. Returned again and replaced it. That leaked after a couple months. He came back and said it was some problem with the water valve in the line. He had no part. A diff guy returned with that part, did a tests and said it wasnt the problem. Left and came back with a new maker a week later. That was six or eight months ago. Its leaking AGAIN! I called Geek, they said the plan i paid for (again in Jan) no longer eliminates diag fees! I told him to shove it. So now i have a Tupperware container that fills with water, becoming a block of ice every 48 hours along with a few cubes. The fridge is a machine and thins happen. But the Geek squad, is aptly named. Im taking my business elsewhere.

Thought it was great but <1yr in and freezer broke
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the size and dimensions of this refrigerator. It fits a lot and was working out great until the other day when the freezer decided to stop working. I noticed the ice cream had melted and upped the controls to the coldest setting, but everything is still slowly melting in there. Now we need to have someone come out and fix a refrigerator we bought in June 2018 - it didn't even make it a year.

Too noisy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the space and bottom freezer however this thing is way too noisy! It makes a horrible noise about every two minutes; at night I have to shut the kitchen door so the noise doesn't wake me up. A lot of money wasted.

Buyer beware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought elsewhere 10/22/24.Freezer is open on sides so cold air pours out when opened. Ice maker is extremely loud. Cheap plastic drawers don't close unless lifted, don't close smoothly, no stop to catch them, little tabs for humidity will break trying to close the drawers, there is no freshflow produce preserver. The thermostat is set on #6 (of 7) to maintain a temp of 36* in a 75* house. Will struggle in the heat. Took 48 hrs to get up to temp! Bad news for power outages. I highly recommend avoiding this refrigerator!

Cheap parts that don't last more than a month
Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll get strait to the point; We have had this refrigerator repaired twice within 13 months for the exact same part. The actuator that works to allow freezer air to blow into the refrigerator makes a horrible grinding noise as it opens and closes; obvious cheap plastic grinding on plastic. Whirlpool replaced the part once and about 2 months later, the new part was making the same noise. They replaced it again under warranty and guess what, that SAME PART is even louder than it ever was! It is past it's 1 year warranty so it's out of pocket going forward to have fixed. Fixing it is a waste of time because this part doesn't last but a months or two before it starts making noise like it's falling apart. Whirlpool used to be high quality and durable; I guess not any more. I will give serious thought to ever buying a Whirlpool product again.

Buyer beware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compressor failed after two years and Whirlpool would not help. Make sure you read the fine print on the warranty. The five year coverage for the sealed refrigeration system does not apply to this model. It only applies to their french door refrigerators. This one is junk. Stay away!

Refrigerator Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this refrigerator on January 1, 2015. In August 27, 2016, I had to have a repair person replace the compressor. I have never had a refrigerator have issues in less than two years. I will make sure to never purchase anything made by Whirlpool again.

DO NOT PURCHASE!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this refrigerator 3 years ago, and the compressor went out. I am now stuck with a $1500 paperweight. If you do purchase, make sure to get the 5 year extended warranty and coolers to keep your food refrigerated after the refrigerator fails.

1 month in its broken.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this fridge at the beginning of June it has already stopped working. Both the refrigerator and freezer are not holding temperature, and the control display is not functioning at all. Whirlpool has to send a technician out now next week to fix/diagnose my brand new fridge. This is totally unacceptable for anyone with kids/infants that needs a fridge every day. Extremely disappointed that Best Buy or Whirlpool will not replace my 1 month old refrigerator today.
