My Whirlpool dishwasher model WDTA50SAK20 lasted less than 1.5 years before the electronic display failed. We've turned off the power, turned it back on. The read out is gibberish and the machine won't start. Just 5 months after warranty ended. Piece of Crap. Not working after 17 months is absurd. Whirlpool was completely unhelpful in dealing with this product. Their quality seems to be completely subpar. Stay away from Whirlpool.

The dishwasher looks nice but does not last! The gray plastic will become brittle and start breaking - you'll find a piece every now and then. most likely after the warranty has expired! The dishes are always dirty, and I pre-rinse! I purchased on 2/20/2018 and the entire top rack is now unusable. 3 out of the 4 brackets have broken and is not repairable. I also purchased the remainder of the kitchen suite and its all junk. The oven has hot spots and the stove top is fickle. the fridge freezes anything in the back and the stuff in the front is barely cool.

Purchased this dishwasher in 2020. In January of 2023 replaced the drain motor for 280.00. In September of 2023 the wash motor needs to be replaced for 460.00. I called Whirlpool and they stated there was nothing they could do but offer me a 15% discount on a new Whirlpool. No thanks. Dishwasher should not require two new motors after three years of limited use. Don’t buy this dishwasher.

I’ve replaced the wash pump twice since purchasing in 2020, today it has died again. 3 pumps in 4 years? Yeah right, never again. Moving on to Bosch. We gave our 10 year old Samsung to family and it still works, that says something, because Samsung is junk….

My dishwasher was only one year old in March. There are only two of us, so it does not get used very hard. The top rack roller is already broken, and the upper wash arm is cracked, so there are times it leaks. I have no idea how this is possible. There are times that it does not get the dishes clean, even with the recommended rinse aid.

This was a brand new dishwasher in the house that I bought in February of 2021. It's July 26th, 2021 (5 months later), and the top rack is completely collapsing. The supports on both sides of the top rack are broken. This is additionally causing the door to pop open when trying to do washes. We're holding the door shut by propping an oak dinner chair in front of it. At my prior home, I had a Bosch 300 series for years and never had this happen. It would be useless to use the warranty and have it fixed. It would just collapse again. I'm replacing with the Bosch. This might only be practical for a childless, married couple that uses light plastic ware. I honestly don't see how this ever passed QA. Consumer Reports should start measuring top rack weight limits and reporting that so that companies will be held accountable for their cheaply-made products.

Piece of junk. Less than 2 years old and needs new pump and $429 worth of repairs. Bought Whirlpool because thought it was made American and would last at least a few years. It is becoming ridicuous that new appliances need to be purchased bi-annually.

So, this isn't so much about the product as about the delivery and install. The guys that delivered it were fine, the process was not. So, here goes. We ordered this with the installation and obligatory install kit. Apprently the hose in the kit wasn't long enough and so because the delivery/install people aren't given additional items that they might need to install, they could not/would not install dishwasher with existing plumbing.(Liability). Further, unless you have a direct path to said plumbing, no fishing, no install. Custom cabinets - no install. This has sealed the fate of my relationship with Best Buy. I will no longer purchase anything from them again. There is no mechanism to have a needed part run out to site. There is no mechanism to discuss options. Only yes or no. Here's your item, accept or decline. Install it yourself or whatever. I will be cancelling my accounts and walking away. There are plenty of other places to purchase from. I will be using them.

I love how quiet this dishwasher is. Other than that, however, there's not much to love. I've tried different dishwasher detergents and rinses, different settings on the machine and different spacing of dishes, pots and pans. Nothing I've tried has helped - this dishwasher simply doesn't get anything clean, even when I pre-rinse everything off before loading it in the dishwasher! Bits of food remain on the silverware and dishes and glasses all have a gritty film on them. I was so excited to get a new dishwasher, but it's been a major disappointment. Yesterday I had to resort to washing all my dishes and silverware in order to get them clean.. Talk about money down the drain!

In just over 2 years, the plastic piece holding the silverware busted. Also, the top rack had 2 plastic pieces break, requiring us to take out top rack so that we could at least run the bottom. Disappointed.

We paid $539 for this 15 months ago. Then the motor broke leaving us with a $420 repair bill. Service guy says the motors break on this dishwasher all the time. So I wouldn't recommend it unless you pay for the extended warrantee. Get a Bosh instead.

In 10/2017 we purchased this dishwasher and had it installed. In 12/18 we had to replace the soap dispenser as it would not open reliably. In 5/19 we had to replace the main circuit board, as the unit would not heat even though the element tested fine. We now have over $1200 in our dishwasher that is less than two years old. We tried to lodge a complaint on the Whirlpool site, but in their form there is a required field without the capability to make an entry into that field, so the comments will not function. I do NOT recommend this dishwasher to anyone.

Purchased with an entire kitchen full of new Whirlpool appliances in April of this year. Dishwasher ran fine for a few months, then stopped cleaning. After reaching out to Whirlpool multiple times and sitting on hold with their local service vendor, we are still awaiting parts for this machine. They refuse to replace the product under warranty because they deemed it "repairable", however it is still NOT repaired and there is no certain date of that happening. DEEPLY regret buying this appliance and the matching refrigerator, gas range, overhead fan/microwave....fear we're now sitting on thousands of dollars of Whirlpool garbage in our kitchen.

This is my second dishwasher I have purchased from this company and the unit I just bought the control panel went bad after not even 2 years. I will have to pay 400 to fix and I will just buy another brand as the customer service is horrible. Save your money and buy another brand.

This thing is a piece of crap. We purchased in 2019 and it's already rusting inside (not even 3 years later). We contacted Geek Squad since we purchased the extended protection plan and after waiting a week for an apt we were basically told they wont replace the rusted parts. Geek squad is worthless and Best Buy is an absolute joke. Do NOT purchase your appliances from here.

I am so disappointed with Whirlpool. Stay away from this one. Have come to expect more from the brand. After buying exclusively whirlpool appliances for over s decade, I am sad that this dishwasher didn't even make it to the year before acting up. It just stopped working!!!!

The dishwasher lasted just a little over 4 years. My old GE lasted 10 years. So disappointed in Whirlpool. We bought the matching stove and problems started after only having it 2 years. I will never buy Whirlpool again.

This dishwasher broke on me after 2.5 years. I was great about rinsing dishes before loading them and cleaning the filters. It's very frustrating how bad this dishwasher has become.

Not even 3 months old and no longer getting power to the unit. Most likely a bad board. Can't wait to schedule 16 appointments with Whirlpool to get this thing fixed after waiting 9 weeks to get it in the first place after ordering.

Cheap cheap cheap. Top rack is broken already. Purchased August 2019
