The dishwasher is very attractive and does an excellent job of cleaning. It is fairly quiet. However, the bottom rack is very flimsy: I didn't look inside the unit first when it was delivered. I should have: one of the roller assemblies for the bottom rack was broken. We were able to fasten it on with zip ties. I put it through a wash cycle last night. When I went to unload it I gently pulled out the bottom rack (you have to be very, very careful with that bottom rack!) and a plastic wheel from a different roller assembly (there are four of the assemblies in total, two on each side of the rack) broke off. Annoying! My old dishwasher was a Sears Kenmore and 25 years old with never a problem until recently. So now I'm going to have to go online and try to buy replacement wheel units for my brand new dishwasher. I ordered this product online Nov. 7 2018 and didn't receive it until Dec. 29, 2018. That seems to me like a really long time to wait for something that arrived with broken parts. It's a good dishwasher but if you buy one make sure you thoroughly check the inside, especially the bottom rack, before you sign for the delivery. The Geek Squad delivery process was somewhat irritating as well: DAILY robocalls (I am NOT exaggerating) saying that "delivery needs to be rescheduled". These continued for 3 days AFTER the product had been delivered. I called yesterday and told them to knock it off. They actually did reschedule the delivery one time, but the rest of the calls were just annoyance calls.

I previously had a Whirlpool portable dishwasher in a model they no longer make. It ended up needing too many repairs (after almost 15 years usage) so it was time to replace it. I made the mistake of doing a lease-to-own from another company for a different brand portable - never again! (I can't name the store or brand due to review guidelines but the store name starts with an "S" and the brand starts with a "K" - you can probably guess which). I called them to come pick it up, came on Best Buy's website and ordered this Whirlpool portable dishwasher. The difference in cleaning from the other brand model to this is no comparison. This beats it hands down! I always had to re-wash dishes with the other, and even with heated dry they were NEVER dry. This Whirlpool model holds a large amount of dishes, and the utensil holder is even bigger than the older Whirlpool model I'm replacing. The machine runs quietly, and the dishes came out clean, dry and streak free the first wash! I'm a die-hard Whirlpool Dishwasher advocate! I also had the best shopping and delivery experience through Best Buy - the ordering was easy, the delivery was on time, and the delivery personnel were exemplary. This is a great buy and I highly recommend.

I have purchased this I portable dishwasher because our kitchen doesn’t have a slot for a built-in dishwasher. This specific dishwasher can be converted into a built-in as we are planning to remodel our kitchen soon. I had to drill a hole through the cabinets to reroute the power cord, the drain hose and the hot water hose underneath the sink because the hose that came with it, as well as the adapter for the faucet is not compatible with our faucet. Overall, whirlpool appliances do last longer if taken care of properly.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This machine does NOT heat the water. We owned a portable Whirlpool dishwasher that lasted for 20 years until it started leaking. We loved it and knew that we would only replace it with another Whirlpool. They have downgraded this machine. The heating element not longer heats the water. This was such a disappointment. It’s not a defect, but just how this machine is now designed. We had a technician come check out the machine. It does NOT clean the dishes well because it doesn’t heat the water. It doesn’t dry the dishes well either. They claim that it will dry the dishes thoroughly if you use a rinse aide, but the old portable Whirlpool dishwasher that we used for 20 years never needed a rinse aid and dried perfectly. I wish I would’ve known all of this before purchasing. The door is also super stiff and hard to close. When we received this dishwasher it was wet inside. I called Whirlpool and was told that I was the lucky one because they tested my machine to make sure it worked before they shipped it. They didn’t even have the decency to dry it out before shipping it. After the first wash it had a bad odor. That’s probably because they shipped it wet which was the perfect condition for bacteria to grow. I sure learned to avoid Whirlpool products.

We had whirlpool portable dishwashers in the past and they were wonderful, lasting years and doing a great job. When our old one started leaking and many of the rack tongs rusted out, we decided to get another whirlpool. I’m very sorry we did. The new model doesn’t wash. There is always food left on dishes even when rinsed prior. There is a film on everything so I have to run dishes under hot water after I unload. Everything in the top rack is soaking wet even when we use a rinse aid. I am so sorry I purchased this and would rather have my old rusty, leaky one back. It did a much better job Unfortunately, I can’t even return this piece of crap because we hooked it up permanently. Our old one was hooked up the same way and worked wonderfully but this one just sucks. There always seems to be an odor in the washer- never in the old one. I have to use twice as much detergent also never in the old one. You would think things would be made better with the new model but I guess they just don’t make them like they used to. Now I’m out $750 and I have to double wash every load of dishes and then dry them and wash them again by hand. I would definitely not recommend this dishwasher and I wish I bought the GE .

I purchased a Wirlpool dishwasher from Bestbuy and signed up for their Geek squad coverage. 1 year or so later the machine stared having issues draining and rincing. I call Geek Squad and reported the issue. After 5 missed appointments, they finally sent a local service appliance company called Superior Appliance (take a look at their reputation on yelp!). Their diagnostic was: “Your machine is not covered by our wanranty”. Meanwhile, I had to be home between 9am and 5pm for 5 days and lost 5 days worth of wages. It ended up costing a lot more then getting a new machine. It would have been a lot cheaper getting a new machine. When they try to sale you Extra coverage they promise you the world!! Geek Squad claims they will fix or change the product and you don’t have to worry about repair! You would be naive NOT to buy the coverage right? Think again!! You know what they say “when it’s too good to be true, it probably is” There is an opportunity cost involved with every missed appointment you make with the repair service. They force you to wait home from 9am to 5pm you lost a day of work right there. In my case, the saga dragged on for 3 months!! Do the math!

Half the time it doesnt finish a cycle. And when it does finish, the dishes are never completely dry. The best way to get dry dishes is to shake the racks to knock the water off, and then leave the door open.

Bought this to replace an older portable dishwasher. It worked great for a few months. Then it stopped working completely. Now its just a microwave tabletop.

Paid a significant amount of money for this machine and it stopped draining very quickly into owning it. I’ve had dishwashers all my life and NEVER had a single issue. Please do not buy anything whirlpool! They are ripping people off!!
