It is not hooked to the garbage disposal... There is still a bit of moisture in the unit after drying that could cause a musty smell, but other than that...it's a good appliance.

Its quiet and does a great job washing dishes. I love the third rack for utensils, it gives me more room on the bottom rack for big stuff.

Love/hate this diswasher

It cleaned better than many others we've owned over the years, but conveniently enough, the door started breaking off right after the warranty expired. We've had it repaired, but every few weeks another part pops off. Whirlpool won't do anything because the warranty is expired. Lesson learned
