Don’t count on dishes coming out dry

Dishes come out clean. However cycles take way(!!!!) too long, especially the drying cycles. And the part that frustrates me the most is the drying of dishes…..they still are wet after the extended dry cycle runs & so is the inside of the dishwasher. After 4hrs of the dishwasher running on just extended dry!! Not what I would expect for a $749 dishwasher. Before I read the these reviews, I thought I was being too picky. Apparently not as this sounds like a common complaint. Whirlpool you can do better than this. (the pictures show the dishes & inside of dishwasher after running the extended dry cycle 2(!!!) times. That is 8hrs of drying time)

Installers damaged it badly & installed it badly

**Beware** We bought this dishwasher in March. We just found out that the reason it is not drying the dishes is because it is not draining properly. On one of my many times mopping out the excess water, I just found a huge dent in the inside casing going from outside to inside (see bottom right of picture). This had to have happened upon install. The bottom water arm is bent as well so it's scraping at the casing, damaging it and it's loud when running. I tried live chatting with someone from Best Buy and they said I can call the geek squad, who I'm sure will charge me a ton of money to fix what the installers did. Very disappointed and upset.

Don’t purchase this product. The employee convinced me to purchase this one vs one that I had researched. This has been a nightmare since day 1. The first one came damaged, they had to return it. The 2nd one came and the guy said it would not fit even though I measured and measured. Best Buy sent someone out and said it would fit so then they delivered again. Then less than 18 months later the display doesn’t work. I only use this once a month and this happened? I was also told if I buy the total tech for 2 years the warranty is extended. I am on the phone and Best Buy tells me nope that’s not true and I have to pay $99 to get this repaired. So this sales person not only sold me a crap product but also lied to me. Don’t invest in the total tech it’s useless

Avoid this dishwasher is you want your dishes dried. About the 4th time using this dishwasher. Let's just say the one we used previously that was 13 years older did a better job drying. Due to the reviews we decided on this whirlpool. We were on the fence with a Bosh. Big mistake getting this whirlpool. We thought hey they make kitchen aid which is a great name. But yea we were proven wrong. Terrible build for sure and certainly wouldn't recommend !

I got my new dishwasher installed on Nov.9th. We were not living in our house jet. We moved in on November 15th. That day I tried to run the dishwasher for the first time and it didn’t run. I still yo this date have not used it. We called Best Buy and they schedule an appointment got the technician to come and check the dishwasher. He said it was a factory problem. I am getting a new one. Hopefully then, if it works I’ll let you know.

Silent Night (due to my Whirlpool dishwasher)

I have not have had this installed a little over a week ago. The installers were very good. The unit runs very well. The dishes are spotless. The unit is very spacious on the inside even with the extra rack on top for steak knives and look utensils. I run it with a rinse aid, as recommended. Prior to purchasing this unit I reviewed a number of online reviews and one complaint common to most of the new dishwashers is the cycle time when heat drying. These newer units do take 2.5-3 hours for a complete cycle. I only run the dishwasher once a day or every other day but if you were running multiple loads daily you would likely have to carefully look for a unit that has a faster cycle. This unit is very quiet and has an easy to remove filter at the bottom they recommend you remove and empty monthly. The true review will be in 5 years or more - hopefully it will last at least that long without any issues. Most of the appliances we have purchased run very well the first few years at least.

Horrible machine! Leaves dishes dirty, sometimes have to rerun the load 2-3 times to get food off of simple plates, not sure how this product has such high reviews. I use cascade dish washer pods and I follow the recommended instructions. Too late to return. But should have never purchased this.

Everything is excellent except of the pocket handle design. The Steel panel is not attached to the plastic handle. The steel panel comes a bit forward from the door and there is a noticeable gap between the plastic handle and the steel panel. Over the time dust and dirt will get into that gap and the steel panel will detach from the door even more . I have to exchange my dishwasher to the bar handle model.

So far, so good. The door is a bit twisted but flush when closed. VERY quiet. Love the third rack. My origonal dishwasher was 21 years old and in the house before we lived here. Hope this one lasts ten years. Dishes are clean and dry using the normal cycle. I just wish it didnt take over three hours to run.

Every time I use my new Whirlpool dishwasher, I promise myself that I will write a review because I am so happy with it. Here I am, finally, after using it for 3 months. I should start by telling you that I was replacing a 15 year old Whirlpool that was still limping along but very loud and outdated. I didn't want a high end dishwasher, but I wanted an appliance that would be user friendly, easy to load, and quieter than the old one. This Whirlpool seemed to fit the bill. First of all, that 3rd rack is a game changer. I love it and use it all the time for larger utensils as well as to clean my scrubbers and sponges. I had no idea how much space it saves having that rack. The top rack is adjustable, and I keep it low because you can fit so many things up there that otherwise would be taking up real estate in the bottom rack: glass tea pitchers, sports bottles, tall tumblers, etc., fit nicely and free up space on the bottom. However, it is easy to move that rack up to accommodate bigger things below. There are adjustments to be made on the bottom rack as well, depending on what you're cooking today. Even the utensil rack has so many options for different sizes. Whoever designs Whirlpools is doing a great job because I am continually amazed at how much stuff I can fit in that thing. Don't rinse your dishes! Honestly, do not. They will come clean. Everything from that crappy oatmeal encrusted bowl to the rice pot that boiled over to the dish your spouse used to microwave the leftover pizza and then forgot to at least soak (ggrrr...). They will get clean, sparkly, and pretty dry. Not totally dry. People complained about that so I did not have high expectations, but on the full cycle it does get stuff like 85% there. The quick cycle doesn't dry them at all. It's a trade off for clean dishes in a short time, and I use it for really small loads I just need to get done. It is pretty quiet. Not silent. But for the price, I am quite happy with the low noise level. The controls are easy and quickly become second nature. It feels sturdy and secure. It's an attractive appliance and will look great in your kitchen. No fingerprints! The bottom line here is that, for a fairly reasonable price compared to others on display, you are getting a great appliance that works well and looks pretty good inside and out. Are there better choices out there for more money? Sure. I guess so. But this delivered exactly what I wanted, no more no less, and for the price I was willing to spend.

Sleek, Quiet, and Powerful—Yet Caution Required

What I Love: • Gorgeous color & sleek design – The stainless steel finish looks stunning in my kitchen and elevates the overall aesthetic. • Hidden control panel – Love that the buttons are placed inside the dishwasher; it keeps the front clean and fingerprint-free. • Spotless cleaning every time – This thing really gets dishes sparkling, even when I’m lazy about rinsing. • Quiet and efficient – It runs softly and adds a touch of elegance with its subtly tucked-away controls. Drawbacks: One issue to note: if water pools at the base of the unit, it triggers an error code (often F8E4), shuttering the dishwasher until it’s serviced. A helpful troubleshooting guide explains that this code typically relates to you needing to drain the drip tray or check the float switch. Just be prepared—this means you’ll need to schedule professional help immediately if it happens.

So far this Dishwasher is head and shoulders above all other dishwashers we've purchased. Runs quiet, cleans well, and the top rack for additional utensils in this spacious washer is a bonus. Has plenty of wash cycles and is easy to use. Nice!

Three weeks in, I love this dishwasher. It is so quiet, my dishes are always clean at the finish, even plastic items are dry, and there's a good amount of room. Our glassware comes out sparkling clean. While I don't use the third rack very often (I can't figure out how to optimize loading it), it's been useful. I do not put my plastic lids on the 3rd rack because they wouldn't dry, but they dry fine on the 2nd rack. It does take a long time to run, but I just run it in the evening, and everything is clean and dry by morning. My only complaint is I cannot read the time as it is in the top of door. While I like having the controls there so my toddler doesn't fool with them, I cannot read the time once I shut the door. Overall, I am very happy with this dishwasher.

I spent a lot of time looking at dishwasher reviews before I finally decided on this Whirlpool model. Our old Maytag bit the dust, and we needed to get a replacement ASAP for this family of five. No one had the coveted Bosch models in stock ready to ship, and Best Buy was able to deliver this one in a couple of days (a flawless delivery!). My husband was able to install this himself (never having done this before), which got us up and running much faster than having to schedule a technician. We didn't realize how noisy the old washer was until we got this model, so much so that we weren't even sure it was running! It has a larger capacity in the main racks than the old one, and the addition of the 3rd rack is icing on the cake. The sleek finish is wonderful, and definitely upgrades the look of our kitchen. As for performance, my dishes are as clean as I would expect them to be. I've seen that people complain about the dishes not being dry, but I don't set a particularly high bar in that department of expectations. Sometimes there is a little bit of water pooled on top of flat surfaces, but less than I had with the old washer. To me this is not a big deal at all.

So far, so good. The top rack is very useful. Putting flatware on the top rack saves space on the bottom rack. The flatware/spatula holder on the bottom separates into 3 parts. Stainless steel internals look nice, and the external surface does a nice job of resisting finger prints and streaks. Yes, the wash cycle is long. Usually 2.5 hours. But this thing is so quiet. We can run at bedtime and never hear it. I've read the reviews from other people saying their dishes don't get clean. I don't know what they're doing wrong (cheap detergent, maybe?), but our dishes come out clean. We do typically rinse them before putting into the dishwasher, though. The built-in handle and lack of controls on the front make for a clean appearance. I cannot find anything, yet, to complain about.

After tolerating a GE Profile dishwasher for over 10 years, and multiple repairs, I was glad when it finally gave up the ghost. I researched around 20 dishwashers for price, reviews and features, and finally settled on this one as the overall winner. It's looks didn't hurt either. The accent strip that runs across above the handle relieves the monotony of a slab of stainless. Now on to the good stuff: + Cleaning: Cleans so good. + Drying: This is not so important to me but I tried it with the drying and extended drying functions anyway. Dishes felt warm and dry with both. For my own use, I turn drying off and keep the door partially open to let them air dry. + Cycle Time: About 2 hours 45 minutes for sensor wash with no drying. Drying adds about 40 minutes to this. There is a quick wash option that takes about an hour - Tried that and dishes came out just as clean. The installer told me it uses more water and power with the quick wash but that's to be expected. + Quiet: The silence is meditative Also, if anyone else wondered about whether you can open this edge display dishwasher while it's running - Yes, you can. Just press start again before closing it up to let the cycle continue. Don't want to jinx it, but I am very pleased. Also, wanted to give a shoutout to Quality Kitchens, BestBuy's installer in the DC-MD-VA region. Thorough, detail oriented tech who took the time to explain the operation of the dishwasher to me and answered my questions in detail.
