First of all, I don't know why I bought a service contract with Best Buy when Whirlpool services their own appliances the first year. After that, the contract is 112.95 for the first year, 339.95 for 3 years and 566.95 for 5 years. I've called them out twice in the 10 months I've owned this refrigerator and they came out the next day both times, very prompt. Both times for the ice maker. The ice maker is awesome but every time you open the freezer its as if you've taken the ice tray out and left it on the kitchen table to unfreeze. Things happen. This refrigerator is beautiful. I love all the beautiful features but of course its not perfect.

all is good except the ice/water dispenser. astounds me that this feature could get out of the design stage without user testing. ice cubes fall out as they melt, landing on the floor. ice melts, filling the tray with water. open the freezer door, spill water everywhere. water drips out of the water dispenser and over the front edge, and runs down the door.

Everything is great and works well. But there are 2 things that just bug us. 1.) Ice gets caught in some in-between space, melts and eventually just falls to the floor. Water is not good for our floors. 2.) The water that collects from ice and water goes nowhere but to the sunken tray. Then to the floor when you open the freezer door. Is there a fix for this? Its annoying wiping water off the door and floor every other hour. For the price we paid I would expect something better along that line. Had a cheaper fridge before this one and that never happened.

I purchased this refrigerator and the door had rust spots within a year. Whirlpool would not replace door. They claimed it is humid in Hawaii and warranty doesn't cover rust. Withing a year the ice maker broke. It was replaced. Then the compressor went down. It took Whirlpool 1 1/2 months to send a repairman and order parts. Then within 2 weeks the compressor went out again. Still waiting for repairman. Can't come out to May 30th. It will probably be another 1 1/2 months before running. I called Whirlpool many times and mailed a letter. The response I received from Kristen R, Whirlpool Consumer Correspondence Team is that their appliances are manufactured under strict quality guidelines. After reviewing, she found no information that would change her decision. I guess she never lived without a refrigerator for 3 months or lost food and had to purchase a small refrigerator until refrigerator is repaired. MY ADVICE IS DON'T BUY A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR!!! TERRIBLE

I had read reviews about this refrigerator dropping ice when it’s not being used and after having this refrigerator the reviews are right, the refrigerator does drop ice unexpectingly , now the ice maker is not working , I’ve had this refrigerator 3 years , I did not expect the ice maker to go out so I now I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this refrigerator if you are really focused on having a working ice maker!!

DO NOT BUY! This fridge is a complete scam. I bought a brand-new unit in 2021, and by 2023, the compressor failed and it completely stopped cooling. Whirlpool dragged their feet sending out contracted techs. After endless back-and-forth, the technician had to come out once a week for almost two months just to finally approve a replacement. Completely unacceptable. Fast forward to August 2023 – they replaced it with the exact same defective model. And guess what? By March 2025, the second compressor failed too. Of course, this happened just outside the standard 1-year warranty. Fortunately, the sealed system is supposed to be covered under a 5-year warranty—but Whirlpool doesn’t make that easy to claim. I paid around $125 just to get someone out to diagnose it. The tech said it might be a relay or starter. I bought a brand-new OEM part and replaced it myself, still didn’t fix it. Compressor was seized, again. Just like the first one. Trying to get help from Whirlpool is a nightmare. They make it extremely difficult to reach support, and when you finally do, they’re slow, dismissive, and unhelpful. Whirlpool used to stand for quality, now it’s nothing but a brand built on overpriced junk and horrible customer service. Total waste of $1700. Buyer beware!

This refrigerator works. However, it is a little noisy. Biggest disappointment: The ice/water dispenser isn't big enough for anything larger than a "regular" dinner glass. Also, the thing drips water and drops ice cubes. AND since the tray doesn't stick out far enough, water drips straight down the front of the fridge leaving water streaks, etc. Not a great design. Secondly: The shelving trays inside the door are easy to knock loose. Ours fell out on a couple of occasions and when it did, it broke.

Pleased with my purchased, but it was difficult to reassemble after removing the shelves and drawers for initial cleaning. I went back to the store for assistance and a sales person couldn't do it either. Another employee figured it out.

We haven't had this fridge but 4 years and everything has broken on it. Multiple plastic shelves cracked and needed to replace. Ice machine breaks down constantly and now it's officially donezo with the control panel needing to be replaced as the freezer acts like a fridge and the fridge is just room temperature and whirlpool couldn't care less. Such a waste of money! Our older fridge is still kicking after 10+ years. Look elsewhere please.

Besides a poor interior design for shelving, we encountered a problem with the ice maker. At about 9 months old ice maker stopped working. Tried customer support and reseach online with minimal help and very limited success. Water in door works but ice maker line freezes up and can only be restored by unpluggin refrig for 30 hours. Repairman says FREEZER DOOR REPLACEMENT IS THE ONLY OPTION (line in door is encased in foam)

This was the worst product I’ve ever bought. The dependability of whirlpool is horrible. I would never buy this product again. I won’t recommend this product to anyone or beware. They do not stand behind their products. My air compressor went out in my refrigerator three times in six months all they offer me the same refrigerator in return. I lost over $600 in groceries and medicine and they gave me $150 compensation. Now, why would I want another refrigerator from you if the one you sent me had three air compressors and none of them worked and you only want to give me the refrigerator again fool me once shame on you twice shame on me you will never fool me three times. You can keep that piece of junk Whirlpool. I will never buy another one.

The first one was the noisiest refrigerator I have ever heard! Could hear it in next room (not open floor plan) over the tv. BEST BUY gets 5 STARS. One phone call and they scheduled a return/replace, even suggested it. I also had opportunity to purchase another but ones I wanted were not available in the area so I got the same model. This one not as loud but still noisier than the old refrigerator I had. Both also run a lot. At 6am in the mornings????? It would be nice if Whirlpool reimbursed me for the dry ice I had to purchase to keep food safe while the new one cooled down.

Do not buy! There is a design flaw in the icemaker mechanism. I've had the icemaker replaced twice. Third time they replaced the ENTIRE DOOR. Now it's dripping/overflowing again leaving a solid chunk of ice in the bin.

Ice maker quit working after 3 years and water line feeding the icemaker is inside the door and can't be replaced without a whole new door. New door as much as new refrigerator is.

I bought my fridge in January because I trusted Whirlpool . The freezer drawer kept falling off it was broke and whrlpool replaced it . The top two shelfs in the fridge froze everything . Repair man came out and tested a water bootle that was just put on the shelf thirty minutes earlier and told me it's fine because the temperature was good . I called repair back still freezing so he changed a gasket he said. Now it's freezing top three shelfs . Whirlpool sent a different company for a second opinon . They ordered a part so I'm waiting . I'm so tired of throwing food out, so I stopped using those top three shelfs . Now I have limited space. Totally upset with this American made product . LEMON for sure .
