Ice maker needed repaired twice, covered under warranty. Now the fridge just stopped working and told it’s not covered under warranty. Buyer beware!!

Bad product and support

It was working fine until the end of Jan. Then I started to notice the water dripping from the front panel near the water dispenser. The ice started to melt. The ice cream in the freezer are beginning to soften and the meat are no longer frozen. I dumped out the ice bin and waited 24 hours but no new ice is being made. I lowered the temperature on the freezer a couple degrees but that didn't seem to help. I called Whirlpool and they sent a technician 2 days later. The tech diagnosed that some parts may be defective and he needs to order new parts. He said it will take a couple of weeks at the earliest to get the parts. In the mean time I had to dump all our food in the freezer. I called Whirlpool customer service. They must be super busy because each time I had to wait about one hour or more before someone picked up. I explained my situation and the rep kept on insisting that there's isn't anything that they can do about my situation. The rep also suggested I'd use my neighbor's fridge in the mean time. I do not expect this kind of service from a well-known company. I don't recommend this brand and model to anyone.
