Lazy delivery man

I got the same refrigerator from Lowe’s it got delivered and fitted With No problems. I lost time and money with the purchase from Best Buy. Thumbs Down

Condenser went out after 2 years

Driver was a lier

Don’t buy

Bad experience with refrigerator

Bummed with All The Service Problems

Within three years the ice maker failed. Since we had extended warranty (thank you Best Buy!), it was covered. Recently, the compressor and condenser failed. It's taking me 8 weeks to get it repaired and then the refrigerator stopped working...again. The repair didn't take and I'll need to wait another couple weeks because of parts shortage. I tried to get a new one replaced from Whirlpool and they've sent me back to the technicians. Apparently, they have to say it's unrepairable before Whirlpool will assist. Which it still may be unrepairable, but I have to get back in line for a technician to come out (third time), assess, order parts, and see if it works again. I'm told these refrigerators don't last more than 3 years before needing the compressors and a condenser (3 techs, to companies told me that). It appears I need another round of compressor and condenser after one week. I wish I knew that before spending this much on a refrigerator. I'm disappointed with Whirlpool's response - I thought more of the brand. I usually don't post a review (good or bad), but I wouldn't have bought this refrigerator if I knew what I know now.

Wife Approved Fridge
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We got this refrigerator from Lowes late November 2021. It is a good looking fridge. It seems big but we had some difficulty transferring the contents of our 26 Cu Ft side by side into this Whirlpool with out throwing away a bunch of stuff. The lighting in the bottom freezer is sparse compared to the top refrigerator. We use the platter drawer for cold cuts and cheese. The drawback of the platter drawer is that it needs both doors to be opened to use it. The bottom ice maker is a cool idea (pun) but I have not used it yet and the ice tray takes up a lot of room that can otherwise be used for groceries. I may soon repurpose that space. The top ice maker, while smaller seems to be good enough for bother me and my wife. I like the split glass shelf that has a panel that tucks under the back panel to make room for taller times. I also like the platter shelf above the drawers that slides out easily and has come in handy after Thanksgiving for casserole dishes. The middle drawer is perfect for soda or other 12 oz cans. The door shelves on the right door are big. Big enough to hold 2 one gallon jugs. The shelves on the left door are smaller but the ice makes and water dispenser take up most of that space. Oh, my wife like the refrigerator so I'm good to good. I only give it 4 stars for the poor lighting in the freezer and the platter drawer needs to be redesigned for easy access with only one door open (a fold down or a sliding front portion for the drawer's front would work). Not quite as big as it seems.

Ticking, tapping popping noise

Its kind of a ticking - like a clock, but its not rhythmic. I had a Whirlpool person out that said they'd never heard anything like it before - it was like a little person was tapping on it from inside. After a couple months it was still making it (no faster/slower/louder/softer - just the same) so we were given a replacement. The new one came and seemed fine (to be honest I do not think the first one made the noise until it had chilled), we went to bed and by the time we got up the next morning (after it had chilled) the new one was making the same noise. So, perhaps its not a problem, but is sure is a concern. I don't want a part to fail, so hope it truly is just a quirk of this model.

Design Issues that Ruin the Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did like the storage in this refrigerator, but it has been problematic from the start. 1) The left door is a bit difficult to close without pushing hard on it. I have to check it every night before I go to bed...if I forget, I actually get back out of bed to go check on it. 2) I have the refrigerator temp set at the recommended temperature, but I can't use the back of the shelves or things will freeze. 3) More than once the ice maker has stopped working, but after playing around with it, it starts back up. I do have the normal problems with ice melting some and then sticking together in larger blocks. A salesman told me tonight that can be a common problem with ice dispensers that are located in the refrigerator section. 4) The refrigerator is less than 3 years old and the freezer light and 5 lights in the top of the refrigerator have gone out. I have the Best Buy Protection Plan... THANK GOD... it took close to a month to get the repairman to my house with the parts because they didn't get them on time from their distributor. When, he did get the parts and came to fix them, he was unable to splice some wires in the freezer part to put in the new light, without removing insulation. He didn't want to remove the insulation because that would probably cause me to have issues with the freezer. It has now been determined that my refrigerator can not be fixed and I will be getting an exchange. I am not sure how that process will work, but it does seem like Best Buy is standing behind their warranty. The problems with this refrigerator are certainly not their fault. If the exchange goes well, I will be continuing to purchase appliances from them and buying the extended warranties.
