Less than five months, unit broke three times. Lost over $800 in food and counting not too mention we have to buy food on a daily basis or eat out because of the wait time for a tech. I'm on a fixed income and this none operational refer is eating into our savings. Geek programed was good but didn't have the repair notes from Whirlpool. It was diffiuclt to get ahold of Geek Squad because their 800 number didn't work, we called Whirlpool who kicked us to the curb and didn't want honor their warranty. There is even a repair note much like a recall on this refer. It will only be fixed after you buy the unit. After three service tries to fix the problem, it still does not work. It is 72 degrees in our house and 76 in the refer. Besides the non-cooling problems, the ice/water dispenser spit out ice on its own or shot water out like a machine gun. Will never buy a Whirlpool again. The Whirlpool tech, when he did arrive, asked us, for tools to thaw the ice build up in the back of the unit. Being impatient, he then used a pick to chisel away the ice and punctured the cooling coils releasing all of the Freon. If we had a stove top burning and the Freon hit the flame, it would have turned Freon into a nerve gas. He left a mess and expected us to clean it up. Whirlpool Service agents are rude and will talk you into circles to deny you any help. My wife was on the phone with Whirlpool, collectively, over five hours and it wasn't until she was in tears did the Whirlpool agent offer any assistance. They extended out warranty for another year but we're still out the money for the food and, I have no trust in the unit any length of time. We have all contact names and dates. Total time without a working refer, seven weeks. Stay away from Whirlpool

I would not recommend this or any other Whirlpool product. While the purchase through Best Buy was great, the product itself is terrible. It is a Stainless Steel refrigerator, yet after only a year the outside face has pits and rust (keep in mind it's in my kitchen), the ice maker is broken, and Whirlpool has refused to repair or replace it.

Had a LG fridge that broke 2 times in 3 years and finally was condemned. Just wanted a fridge that worked. Did a lot of research and finally decided on this one. Love the fridge itself but HATE the Icemaker. I should have listened to others. I would never have bought this if I knew it was that bad. Ice bits fly everywhere and ice continually falls out of nowhere onto the floor. Even the water dispenser drips after you stop. Becoming a real pain!

Would never buy Whirlpool again. Second time in 6 months i have had to have it repaired for the same issue. Ice forms below bottom draw and stops the fridge from cooling. Ice compartment sprays out ice, more goes over our floor than in the glass. Simply dreadful, that's all I can say.

It was challenging to get it inside the front door. Thankfully the bottom drawer door slides off. The French door handles are a bit difficult to attach. Overall good product. Reinforce door closure when opening all doors, to keep seal intact.

We purchased this refrigerator in June 2016 and it is the worst product ever. first of all we received a defective refrigerator the water feature wasn't working so the delivery guys hauled it away and a replacement was delivered the next day. In December the refrigerator stopped working we placed a call to whirlpool and a technician came out to look at it 2 days later. Mind you by then we had to trash all the spoiled food and had been without a refrigerator for couple of days.. technician advised the thermistor went out and placed an order for replacement part. We wait another two weeks for replacement part to arrive. Once the part was installed the refrigerator works for another 3 weeks then now it has stopped working. It appears to have the same problem as before. What a huge dissatisfaction.. For the amount of money we spent on this product we sure are disappointed. Do not purchase this defective equipment or you will regret it.

WORST FRIDGE EVERY! LEMON!! 7 repairs in a year and a half. Everything broke from the ice maker to the compressor. Eventually I was paid off from the warranty company due to the cost of repairs.

If you buy this fridge, buy the protection plan. We are having the second major issue with ours, unfortunately at 1-1/2 years old it is now out of warranty. Although the certified repairman said that this new problem with the thermostat and defroster is a known problem and the company has created a new part to fix the issue, there is no recall for some reason. Whirlpool customer service is lousy. They deny that the issue exists (although again, they created a new part they will sell you) and mocked us for not buying their protection plan. Avoid this fridge and Whirlpool overall.

I have to change to LG because in one week this refrigerator have rust in the doors and all the freezer have frost
