So instead of sinking money in an old refrigerator i decided to buy a new one. BIG MISTAKE in choosing this one. The ice maker is TERRIBLE! Makes hardly any ice. The old Whirlpool Gold I had I never had to make ice by myself. But this one. I have to keep trays in the freezer because it can't even come close to keeping up. Beside the fact the ice maker broke after 9 months of ownership. I called them in for a fix and it took 4 Months to get the part in. Now it works and guess what I STILL HAVE TO MAKE ICE WITH TRAYS, because it will not keep up. I guess making your products in Mexico wasn't so great for Whirlpool. I will never buy another Whirlpool again. Buyer Be Ware.

Width between the doors is uneven from top to bottom so cannot be adjusted. Glob of glue on the door seal that will not come off. This is a replacement to the same new model that made a loud humming noise nonstop. Will give it one more attempt.

A year and a half after I purchased it the ice maker I thought no problem I also got the geek squad warranty with it. Things only got worse, the technicians were friendly. And thought they fixed replacing the ice maker. It worked for one day then. It failed again. They came to repair a couple of times. It turn out to be the door. Whirlpool sent them the wrong door 3 times. Four months later it still not working and the refrigerator side isn’t cooling any more. I never write bad reviews but my experience with this fridge is causing me to write my first bad one.

After owning this fridge for 1 year the ice maker quit and calling Geek Squad for help got us about 6 different workmen in and out of our home but the problem was never fixed. After reading other reviews about this fridge we diagnosed the problem ourselves and explained it to Geek Squad. My husband even managed to do a temporary repair himself hoping the real fix was coming soon. 6 months later, after countless phone calls to Geek Squad and Best Buy, the problem still is not fixed. Geek Squad does a very poor job of record keeping and communicating. They always try to pass the buck to someone else, start you back at the very beginning of their endless process or are just plain clueless and useless. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance and I will absolutely never buy something with Geek Squad protection--it has been nothing but a useless headache!
