Works excellent, no complaints, should have gotten one sooner

I owned a Whirlpool Gold Side by Side for 12 years and didn't have any problems, but alas in the 12th year the ice maker went and my family uses a lot of ice. So instead of sinking money in an old refrigerator i decided to buy a new one. BIG MISTAKE in choosing this one. The ice maker is TERRIBLE! Makes hardly any ice. The old Whirlpool Gold I had I never had to make ice by myself. But this one. I have to keep trays in the freezer because it can't even come close to keeping up. Beside the fact the ice maker broke after 9 months of ownership. I called them in for a fix and it took 4 Months to get the part in. Now it works and guess what I STILL HAVE TO MAKE ICE WITH TRAYS, because it will not keep up. I guess making your products in Mexico wasn't so great for Whirlpool. I will never buy another Whirlpool again. Buyer Be Ware.

Larger than what expected. Love the fact that the ice maker is on the side. Overall, great fridge to have when you have kids... notify you when the door is open and no finger prints!

Excellent product for the value. Larger capacity than most refrigerators that we looked at. Definitely happy with this purchase so far.

This Whirlpool fridge is excellent, my mom loves it!

I saw the reviews for the refrigerator when it first came out and they were positive. A year and a half after I purchased it the ice maker I thought no problem I also got the geek squad warranty with it. Things only got worse, the technicians were friendly. And thought they fixed replacing the ice maker. It worked for one day then. It failed again. They came to repair a couple of times. It turn out to be the door. Whirlpool sent them the wrong door 3 times. Four months later it still not working and the refrigerator side isn’t cooling any more. I never write bad reviews but my experience with this fridge is causing me to write my first bad one.

Nothing really to dislike. Only complaint and deducted one star because the door handles are easily scratched.

This fridge has lots of room and seems to be of a good build quality.

Amazing fridge. Love the water measurer!! Looks really good to in the stainless steel look. I would highly recommend this fridge!

So far so good. No issues with the refrigerator so far. Cleaning instructions are easy and delivery was excellent.

I'm so happy with this purchase!! It's much bigger inside than my previous refrigerator and so easy to organize. Everything is easier to find in the fridge and freezer compartments and it's so quiet!!

This is a good looking refrigerator, very bright, the electronics are easy to work... simple yet fancy!

I never write bad reviews but I have never been so disappointed with an appliance and the so called warranty service. After owning this fridge for 1 year the ice maker quit and calling Geek Squad for help got us about 6 different workmen in and out of our home but the problem was never fixed. After reading other reviews about this fridge we diagnosed the problem ourselves and explained it to Geek Squad. My husband even managed to do a temporary repair himself hoping the real fix was coming soon. 6 months later, after countless phone calls to Geek Squad and Best Buy, the problem still is not fixed. Geek Squad does a very poor job of record keeping and communicating. They always try to pass the buck to someone else, start you back at the very beginning of their endless process or are just plain clueless and useless. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance and I will absolutely never buy something with Geek Squad protection--it has been nothing but a useless headache!

Quiet and well built. Ice maker in door. Lots of space in both the freezer and fridge

Just delivered. First off, the installation was pretty bad. Yes they took the old one out. Yes they brought the new one in. They whined about the fact that the old unit had a copper line from the outlet to the fridge. "We can't work on copper lines - and this one is corroded". So fine, I crawl behind and with some pliers disconnected the line at the wall with 7-8 EASY turns. What a joke. Installers didn't even bother to remove all the tape holding shelves, etc. in place. Now to the unit - it is INCREDIBLY noisy when the compressor kicks on. I can sit in the next room with the TV on and hear it buzzing. The ice maker spits out tiny cublets of ice. About 12 per cycle. The container holds a tiny quantity. I used to be able to partially fill an ice chest with the old unit. I couldn't even cover the bottom of the same ice chest with this unit. IF YOU NEED LOTS OF ICE look at other options. Will be calling BB support to see if at least the noise can be reduced. Couldn't recommend this item to anyone.
