I was excited about this refrigerator. But I wish I would never have bought a whirlpool. It makes so much noise. My 20 yr old GE didnt make this noise. Plus had damage I didnt notice til the next day.

Door wouldn’t stay closed causing inside of refrigerator to ice up & defrost inside!!! Then it was leaking in the back of the fridge! Whirlpool is replacing it!

It has a bad finish in the corners and edges, it has the techno inside and cannot be removed, the steel material is always stained and cannot be cleaned, it has a very bad finish in general, I would like to return it because it seems that they gave me a used product or returned from another customer.

The first refrigerator came and the doors were on the wrong side. When the repairman came to change the doors, they stripped them so they ordered another. It was wrong also. You took back my extend warranty.

Refrigerator stainless steel door started to rust in about 6 months of use.

Right from the start this refrigerator had big issues with erratic temperatures. We had numerous service calls to try to fix it, but before it was even 2 years old, it was dead. And even with all the known problems, Whirlpool could not have cared less. This is our second Whirlpool fridge in recent years to have issues, and their customer service is terrible. We’re done with the Whirlpool group of appliances.

I purchased this fridge at Best Buy in Brooklyn and couldn’t wait to get it, I thought it would be great since it is a Whirlpool, but boy was I wrong. What an unbelievable disappointment. The quality was awful, with glue and other materials visible on all the edges. The fridge was also dirty inside, and looked like it had been used. The plastic storage container on the door was cracked on the right side. I paid $800 bucks for a fridge that looks like I should throw it away. Never buy a whirlpool product. I will make it my goal to tell as many people as possible to never again buy whirlpool.

Perfect size for a small kitchen , not too roomy inside especially the top freezer very disappointment it got rusty ,cleaned with stainless steal cleaner it won’t help it .

Bought this refrigerator 6 months ago and it was working fine until one night I went to get something and the refrigerator section was not cooling. Opened up the freezer and everything was frosted over and it was so cold it even froze alcohol. I called BB because they sold me the total protection plan, which the plan for this was to call Whirlpool! Glad I had the plan. Whirlpool sent someone out and they said there was a defect in the doors and they would replace them but it would take 8 WEEKS!! I asked them how was i supposed to go 8 weeks without a refrigerator when i have kids and they said they would give me $50 towards buying a minifridge to help. That's their solution, buy a fridge from us and when it breaks down after six months we will give you money towards another fridge. My family will be having Thanksgiving with no refrigerator. Whirlpool is TERRIBLE. I WOULD NOT BUY FROM THEM!!

After the delivery team installed all of my kitchen appliances I decided to wipe down the outside of the fridge due to little smudges and fingerprints left behind from the installation. I used a stainless steel friendly cleaner and the next day I noticed rust spots. I will be exchanging this fridge.

Three weeks today the refrigerator was delivered. It was an open box purchase. I don't know why it was returned. There are scratches on the freezer door. The refrigerator I had was failing and a new Whirlpool was back ordered to September 23. None available at Lowes or Home Depot so I purchased the Whirlpool. There was a lot of condensation in the freezer but I thought it was adjusting. Soon Icicles were forming in freezer (I have photos) Called Whirlpool and registered the Fridge and got information re a service call. It did not improve. In fact, the top shelf in the refrigerator in the center was freezing items. Radishes in water. I have pictures. I called for a service call, through Whirlpool. Paradise Appliance. I don't remember if was a week wait, but a service call was made on Thursday, August 28. The service man said the freezer hinges were not correct. He ordered me a new door (said it would be two weeks) and a new thermostat. Last night, August 29, I opened the freezer and the ice cream was completely melted. I thought. wait. Icicles and food would be frozen Saturday, August 30. But at 7 a.m., the freezer was nearly completely defrosted. Ice cube tray..melted. I called Paradise Appliance and received a return call at 7:20 a.m. I think he said nothing anyone could do!!! By 9 a.m. I took two bags of defrosted food to a friend who was able to fit into her refrigerator. I bought four bags of ice. Two bags are in freezer with food (defrosted) on top and two bags in coolers with some of food from Fridge (Tofu, Yogurt). I am so disappointed. I feel if I call Best Buy I will get a runaround. It would cost me hundreds of dollars to call a local appliance repair and they wouldn't be able to fix. I read the manual about freezer and fridge controls and I have no idea how to work a "smart" control. I don't hear the motor. But the refrigerator light is on. If you receive this please call me at . I've had this product for a little over 2 years before the cooling system gave out. I had contacted Whirlpool and schedule a visit from a technician, who informed me that the issue is caused by the sealed system. The technician informed me that while this is a manufacturer issue, it is not covered by Entitlements (factory warranty) due to it being a "cheaper" the model. I asked the technician what could've caused this issue, and was informed that 2/100 Whirlpool refrigerators will be considered defective. While I understand that mistakes happen, if 2/100 Whirlpool refrigerators are defective, then should there be some sort of reservoir set aside by Whirlpool to fund the fix for unlucky customers such as myself . The quote I received was $848.46, not including the $120 that I paid for diagnostics. The part will cost $317.58, labor at $500, with shipping at $15. That brings the total ~950, not including taxes. That amount is well over what I paid for the product. I just expected more from a Whirlpool product. While I understand that mistakes happen, this is an issue with the product, and should be covered by entitlements. The timing is also very inconvenient due to the recent atmosphere events, especially since my family needs a fridge to store all the food. Because this issue occurred out of the blue, and the fridge didn't show any major signs of needing repair until it was too late (it still turns on, just doesn't cool), all the food we had stored to prepare for the outbreak had gone bad. Stay away from this product at all costs!

Though very sleek looking for a refrigerator this size, there was a problem from the start. The freezer had frost on the inside of the door after a few hours of being turned on. Best Buy provided excellent customer service and replaced the Whirlpool wth another of the same model. That one also had the same “Frost” problem. Best Buy, once again, offered a replacement. This time I chose another brand. As excellent as Best Buy service was, Whirlpool’s was poor. You must have Whirlpool provide service the first year even if you purchase Geek Squad protection. Whirlpool caused many hours of phone calls and no resolve. Best Buy stood by their policy!! Thank you

The delivery experience was HORRIBLE. They rushed me in trying to clean up the area after they removed the old fridge. I wanted to seal up some cracks, but they wouldn't give me time. Then they tried to split before I could check everything out. I'm glad I ran to look because the door was installed on the wrong way. This happened because they never took 2 seconds to ask me, even though I was in the next room, and the old fridge was set up the correct way--which they had just removed, Then the guy spent more time arguing with me about doing it the right way than it took him to fix. I made him call the manager, who authorized the correction. Then--after redoing the door--he left without saying anything. He literally snuck away. Now, I can't adjust any of the shelves because I can't open the door wide enough to do it. AND it is missing parts. So I'm stuck with shelves in the wrong place and no drawer becauce the delivery guys suck. I had to call Whirlpool to mail me the replacement parts. But I am going to have to hire someone to take the door off so I can install the shelves properly. I HATE BEST BUY GEEK SQUAD.

After the refrigerator was delivered to my house, I noticed that there were some cracks on the side of refrigerator. I am so disappointed about the defect and doubted in choosing this brand in the future. In the past, I purchased most of big appliances under this brand in my house.

Purchased in August 2025 and already not working. Having to call service. Good thing I guess is that its still under manufactireres warea ty. We'll see how that goes.

I have returned the first one for being damaged. I am in the process of returning the second one because it is making a noise and I am going somewhere else to get its replacement

Decided to write a review after purchasing this in June of 2019 and here we are 2.5 years later and the fridge is completely shot. Paid $109 for service fee to have it looked at and the fridge is shot. The freon has completely evaporated from the closed cooling system. Of course not under warranty anymore due to it being just over 2 years old. Cost to fix is $900 which is more than we paid for the fridge! So disappointed in whirlpool and this product! Do Not Buy! Bought this as part of a complete whirlpool appliance package and now I’m worried about the other appliances!

System failure within two days of having refrigerator installed. Ice began building up in the freezer on the second day which was shocking. The refrigerator door gasket was not sealed around the doors, the gap was large enough to put your fingers in to touch the inside of the fridge. Ice build up was also inside of the main fridge area on the top shelf. The refrigerator also ran loud. Had to keep the refrigerator for 3 months before a replacement arrived. The freezer was full of ice....For this to be a brand new refrigerator it’s a LEMON!

This refrigerator is terrible. It freezes over in the freezer, then somehow melt and floods the fridge below, and then freezes again. We have to replace it and it has only been a couple years, but of course just passed the cut off to return it.
