Love my new range!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this range. It took some getting used to going from a electric coil stove top to a flat smooth stove top but the cooking is so much more even. With my electric coil cooking there were hot spots where food would stick in certain areas of my pots but with this range there is such even cooking that I don't have that problem. I love the way I can use the inner heating element or both for a larger cooking area. It's great being able to customize my cooking with each size pot or pan I use. The oven seems to take a little longer to preheat than my old one but I just adjusted to that. I'm really happy with all the cooking I've done with this range. It's really nice to be able to use the convection or bake features with the oven. I find that I use the convection cooking more. The storage drawer is smaller than my last one but I've just adjusted to that. I'm not going to complain about that when I have such a larger oven. It's huge! I did order a third oven rack since it only comes with 2 racks. I had to make minor adjustments compared to my old range but that's to be expected. I didn't go wrong purchasing this range and I'm very happy with it.

Nice looks but convection is only great feature
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The nice looks and excellent convection oven feature makes this range okay but not worth the extra $200 over basic $549 models. Either go with economy models or spring an extra $200-300 for a premium brand. The inner-outer burner controls are illogical with little diagrams that are not intuitive. It is easy to turn on the wrong burner. The stovetop warmer unit is basically worthless. Oven controls yell at you if you do not press 'start.' The storage drawer barely holds a couple small pans and feels cheap. One year with no quality problems.

Loved it until.....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this range when we moved in our new home the end of Dec 2013. I absolutely LOVED this stove! I have had a smooth top/convection before. The top is easy to clean. It doesn't take long to heat up. I love the convection oven. It cooks evenly and works great. I had not used the self cleaning feature until yesterday. All I had done was have some brown gravy spill and splatter in the bottom. So, I thought I would use the cleaning feature. OMG! I used it 4 TIMES and it is still not clean! I made sure I followed the instructions to a "T"! It says not to use chemicals, but I have used a plastic Pampered Chef scrapper and it still will not come up. I have no choice but to use some type of oven cleaner if I don't want my oven smoking every time I use it now. I sure wish I would have used this feature the first 30 days I had the stove, because it would have returned it. I hate to clean an oven, and with the price I paid I shouldn't have to clean it the old fashioned way, but I have no other choice!

2nd review; cooktop preservation tip
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second review. I would like to mention a tip that we use to keep the glass cooktop from becoming scratched or broken. We have a small counter on each side of our range and have placed a wood cutting board on each. Therefore, as we need to remove hot dishes from the oven, remove pot lids from pans on the burners, place spoons or utensils aside, or serve food, we utilize the cutting boards. This has worked extremely well for us in keeping our cooktop nice, plus it is very convenient. Also, there has been no issue for us with using any of our current cookware; aluminum or stainless steel or any other. However, we are very cautious about sliding pots and pans around; pick them up to move them. My cooktop has remained beautiful up to date.

This is the worst appliance I have ever purchased
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this range about 6 months ago and have been unhappy with it ever since. The glass top is very difficult if not impossible to clean. I was told by a repair person that came to check out my concerns about the range to use a razor blade and lots of cleaner. But to be careful with the razor blade so as to not scratch the top. It requires way too much time to keep it clean so it looks dirty most of the time. The over takes a long time to heat up, I think somewhere around 10-15 minutes to heat up to 400 degrees. When the oven heats to more than 400 degrees the handle gets hot. I measured it at 180 degrees. Then there is the aqua clean in place of a self cleaning over that heats up and burns off all the food. This does nothing to give the oven that nice clean look that I have gotten in the past from older ranges that have self cleaning. Looks like I will have to go buy some over cleaner to get it back to that new look. Based on all of the things I dislike about this over I regret every day that I have to use it. After contacting Whirlpool executive offices they sent out a repair person to make sure the range was operating normally. It turns out everything is working as it is supposed to but I hate, hate, hate this range and wished I hadn't taken so long to do something about it. Well not it is too late and Whirlpool says "sorry there is nothing else we can do". Well I can do something - Never buy a Whirlpool appliance again. Buyer beware on this oven.

Oven is 19 months old and needs a $420 part
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this oven after reading positive reviews about 20 months ago. The first oven delivered made a terrible noise when the convection was turned on, so Best Buy replaced it. Then one month ago, 4 days before Christmas, the oven started burning everything and giving us an error. We researched the error code and found it was either a temperature sensor or the control board. Turns out it is the control board, which costs half of what I paid for the oven brand new, and that is with my husband doing the repairs, if I had to pay someone to repair the oven it would probably be cheaper to buy a new oven. If you purchase this oven be certain to buy the extended warranty, you'll most likely need it!
