It's in cooling mode more often than not so you won't have peace and quiet in your living room if you have an open floor plan.

The refrigerator is wonderful!!! If you like a side by side this one is awesome, the icemaker is on the inside of the door so you have more shelf space. It is fairly quiet when running and hold an enormous amount of food for a 24.5 Cu Ft. unit. Love, Love Love IT!

BAD ice maker

Repair tech. sent out and order a new freezer door. After the door was replace we continued having the problem with ice maker freezing up and a whistling sound a new valve was order. Total of 5 service visits in 7 months. We need to clean the ice delivery chute, rinse ice bin then dry thoroughly every 2 weeks to avoid clogging. IT IS IN THE MANUEL the one you get after purchase, if advised I would not have purchased this product.

The ice maker is very efficient and a perfect size. Quality issues- crease in the stainless door - Best Buy quickly replaced it with no hassle. Unit was also dirty inside??? Haven’t contacted customer service about the noise yet.

Our other refrigI had to constantly clean the outside. This refrig needs very little care. Love the double doors for easy access. The icemaker works well and the water is easy to use. Also we can get water while the refrig is open. The inside is roomy.

This Whirlpool had a "New Take" on through the door water and ice. I fell for it. really ejects ice All Over the place, water ok. Refrig side has VERY FEW shelf configurations - maddening. Three sliding drawers not easy to use (scrape in and out). Stainless steel FRONT, but sides are painted GRAY! This is a very cheap shot that begs for buyers who buy in a hurry based on PRICE, and don't REALLY check it out! Also, entire unit is a bit 'racked' - tops of doors and handles don't meet evenly. A very sorry buy indeed.

But I've been very surprised thus far. All claims are, for the most part, TRUE. AN ADDED BONUS- beverages can get to almost freezing without freezing everything else in there. The freezer is HUUGE!!! The water filter and icemaker are plus!!!!
