    Not Quality - Doesn't last

    I bought this 3 1/2 years ago. A drawer cracked within less than 1 year. You cannot adjust any of the shelves - very annoying when you want to put an oversized item in. Just this week, the freezer/refrigerator stopped cooling. It was completely out of refrigerant. I had to have it refilled at a cost of $400. That should never have to be refilled. The technician could not detect any leak after having refilled it and checked it twice over 3 days to see if any loss of refrigerant. Tech feels it was never fully filled from the factory.

    Too Noisy and Disappointing Whirlpool Support

    This refrigerator makes noise constantly, stops when you open the door ans starts again every time you close it. But it also triggers the unacceptable noise frequently without opening its doors. Since the beginning we noticed that this refrigerator was noisier than all the ones we have had before. But we thought.. "it can be that bad... we will get used to it and at some point we will not notice". Bad mistake. After 8 months, we can not stand the noise but we have to live with it until we can (again) pay full price for a new one. We have used Samsung, LG and Kenmore before and never hated the refrigerator noise to this extent. . We decided to give Whirlpool a chance, but now we regret it, because when I explained my problem they said: "If is not broken we will not fix it, too bad you don't like the noise and because is beyond the 30 days for returns we will not help". I understand there are rules, but this is the kind of problem that only gets to be fully appreciated after living with the product for some time. I was hoping to get a refund, a replacement or at least some courtesy discount to buy a new less noisy refrigerator from them. But they said no. That is how much they care to help a new customer. My advice: Do not buy this refrigerator because its poor engineering makes it too noisy and do not buy from Whirlpool because they do not seem to care when this kind of problem happens to their customers.

    Bad Frig

    Bought this refrigerator June 16 2022. Within the past week and a half we noticed temp in frig seemed to be getting warmer every day. Freezer temp also rising now. Frig temp is 60, freezer is at 21 degrees. Temp settings set at coldest and not getting colder. Compressor seems to run constantly. When you open frig or freezer compressor shuts off. When you shut doors, compressor comes back on. Thought that was energy thing but now I wonder. Water drips down front of frig when dispenser used. Ice cubes seem to get stuck in tube and then drop out on floor after them melt a bit. Have had to take everything out of frig and freezer due to temp. Thank goodness we have our 20 year old kenmore in garage to put stuff in. Notified whirlpool and best buy Monday of problem. It's Thursday and no assistance yet. I think the component that defrost the freezer is shot because there is ice on the back wall of the freezer. Not a repair person but, had this issue with the frig we had prior to this one. Anyway, no I would not recommend this frig to anyone. Very very unhappy with purchase. For $1570.00 I expect it to last a lot longer like my Kenmore in the garage.

    DON'T BUY THIS FRIDGE!!!

    The first one they delivered was defective. The right door was higher than the left no matter how much they tried to level it. They also could not level the fridge itself so it was leaning forward. I returned it. They brought another one and the doors were level this time. However, this fridge comes with NO leveling feet so the fridge is essentially leveled on wheels. Yes, that's right - on wheels!!! Every time you open the fridge, it rolls forward. Best Buy came over and tried to fix it. The guys said this model has no level feet to prevent the rolling. I did not believe this because it seems so dumb for Whirlpool to design a fridge this way. I called Whirlpool and they admitted that they get A LOT of complaints about this fridge but they said they would send somebody out. The guy just left. He took one look at the fridge and said there's nothing I can do. This is how Whirlpool makes this fridge with no leveling feet to stop the rolling. He held it and said, "oh yeah it moves but there's nothing I can do. Maybe you could buy something to stop it." He wasn't in my house for 5 minutes before he left. Whirlpool knows about this issue and still sells this junk! I will return this to Best Buy. Extremely disappointing. I think we all should just stay away from Whirlpool!

    Broke Down Twice Weeks after Warranties Expired

    When working its great but... Just over a year after the purchase (warranty lasts 1 year), the freezer stopped cooling/would make a loud lawnmower sounding noise - from ice in the fan. Then 3.5 months after that repair, it happens again (3 month warranty on the repair). Both times causing food to become warm as well. Would not recommend, has been a big headache. And it's very expensive (assume you'll pay to repair it once or twice a year).

    I purchased this refrigerator as part of a package. After installation, I immediately noticed that it was very loud and the fan kept running. It was only then that I went back and read the reviews. Big mistake! Apparently this refrigerator has an extensive history with the same issue. I also noticed the same stock Whirlpool response. I contacted Whirlpool and received this: "I am terribly sorry to hear that this unit is making this noise. Usually when a refrigerator is just installed it will make noises as it settles. it can take up to a week for it to settle." I called Best Buy and they were fantastic in getting a replacement out right away. Unfortunately, the replacement fridge is making the same loud noise. My suggestion...AVOID WHIRLPOOL. The fact that they are aware of the issue and instead of fixing it, they just make excuses should signal you to shop for another brand. Bye Whirlpool!

    Good entry level Fridge Poor quality checks

    Fridge arrived with flaws 2 times .First time replaced it do to icemaker issues. However it does work fine. Best buy managed to be the biggest problem by damaging our wood floors 2 times.

    THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST PURCHASE WE HAVE EVER MADE!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT!!!! IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE SINCE DAY ONE. Constantly have issues with water leaking in the freezer...like an ice skating rink in there. Also have had water leaking onto our wood floors. Makes all kind of noises.

    Noisy compressor

    The compressor is too noisy. It buzzes loudly and seems to run constantly while unit is set on 3 bars. Very annoying. Whirlpool authorized repair techs said it was normal for new models. My old 16 year old fridge was quieter. Hate the constant buzzing.

    Warranty Service

    I purchased the whirpool side by side fridge and the icemaker has not been working for a couple months. They sent a repairman to look at my fridge and I was told I need a plumber to look at my line. Plumber came and said nothing is wrong with my line. Made a second appt through Whirlpool and the serviceman never came, When I called I was told by the service vendor that my appt was never confirmed. Even though I received a confirmation email from Whirlpool.

    No air filter on this model. Ice dispenser jams.

    We purchased this refrigerator this year. It doesn't have an air filter so it tends to start to smell fairly quickly. We've changed our water filter for the ice machine and it still tastes terrible. The ice dispenser also jams quite frequently. We wouldn't recommend this model.

    Only shelf to put a gallon of milk is the top shelf. Water dispenses warmer water, or basically what comes out of the tap

    Refrigerator stopped cooling and freezing!!!

    I purchased this refrigerator along with a whirlpool stove (my first whirlpool purchase) on 3/26/19 and it was delivered on 3/28/19. Yesterday 7/8/19 I opened the refrigerator to discover that it was not cooling or freezing and my food items in both the fridge and freezer were perishing. I’m not sure when it stopped working. I called customer service I had to get a 20 minute spill on purchasing an extended warranty before I could even explain the situation. I was told that the fridge could not be serviced until 7/16. I explained to the rep that I needed someone to come out sooner...it’s summer and my 4 children and I are off for the summer....I can’t afford to lose everything. He said that if I had purchased the extended warranty, that wouldn’t start until after the year long manufacturers warranty was up anyway, they would have offered some assistance with the food I’ve lost. What an insult. I’d never buy another whirlpool. The rep was able to set up an appointment for 7/12 Next time I’ll look for quality over beauty. Very disappointing.

    Worst Refrigerator Ever Made, Major Design Defects

    This is the worst fridge I've ever owned, it's literally designed to be bad. It's as if no one ever tested it out for 20 minutes before they started selling it. The water dispenser sits at the very outer edge of the fridge which means water drips go down the side of the fride and onto your floor and boy does it drip! It drips like crazy, you put a service request in, technicians come out to fix the drip but also mention due to how it's designed it's just going to happen and that they can't fix Whirlpools bad design. Better hope you don't have wood floors! Whirlpool unfortunately will not address this issue for their customers as they'd rather keep the defective design and hope people don't care about water all over their floor. Your only solution will be to pay someone to dispose of the fridge and find something else.
