Tedious!! Too many steps
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted something with few bells/whistles, would be easy to fix if broken, and was not expensive. Definitely happy to have a whirlpool, because Samsung, LG, and others are soooo expensive to fix. BUT... I WISH I had spent another couple hundred dollars on something that was convenient to use, considering I'm stuck with this for years. It is so tedious: first you put in the detergent, then you layer the clothes around the spinner, then you make sure everything is balanced, then you put in softener. It doesn't sound like much, but it gets so annoying, to do over and over, especially when there are washers that allow you to just throw in the clothes, dump some detergent in the receptor, push a button, and move on in your day. On top of this, it runs quite loudly (we now have to shut the wash room door). The money we saved on the washer, we're now spending on drop-in detergent pods (even my frugal partner who liked this washer b/c it was cheaper is annoyed at having to take so many steps, so the money is going to that). Plus, it just looks cheap. It washes clothes fine, but the creature-comfort factor makes me wish I'd spent a couple hundred dollars more, especially considering the fact that I use it so often and will have it for years.

Absolutely hate it!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely hate it!! I recently bought this washer, I asked the girl in the department to tell me about the washers and dryers, she was very nice but NOT helpful at all, she knew nothing. She told me that they were basically all the same, that it wouldn´t matter which one I got. So being in a rush, I decided to get this one with the pair dryer because they were reasonably priced. I didn´t even notice, but it doesn´t have a slot for detergent or softener, so what has happened is that a bunch of clothes, and bed sheets are all stained. I read I will need a downy ball, which is crazy, it is VERY hard to find a downy ball, and I expect these will not be made for much longer, because they are needed for 1980´s technology. Note too that once the cycle starts, the door locks and you cannot put the detergent in once the water has reached a good level. I then tried to wash a thin king size blanket, and what happened is the blanket ends up in a tight ball hitting the sides as if you had a big rock inside.... No surprise when you see that the blanket is filled with soap everywhere. I went to best buy about 45 days after I purchased it, because I hadn´t had time to go before, tried to get it exchanged but was rejected. Went back again about three weeks ago, asked again and was rejected again. They suggested I call Whirpool, which I did, but got rejected by them too. So this washer apparently won´t clean my king size anything, keeps staining my clothes and sheets and I will hate it everyday! And I will definitely think again of getting a big appliance at best buy because I cannot have reliable feedback or Whirpool, they just don´t care and have a product with bad design and antique technology.

Noisy, noisy, shakes like the dickens!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Regret getting this washer, but not many other options from BB. Dislike the noise and shaking, especially on the upper floor laundry room! I miss the old fashioned models and basement placement of washers. Anyway, buyer beware of this model! It also tripped the circuit breaker!

Returning Machines
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just tried it on two small loads and was very disappointed, so I am returning it for a more expensive machine. There is no soap dispenser, so you need to put soap in first on bottom before putting in clothes. This caused detergent buildup/staining on my clothes. Once the lid is closed you cannot re-open it to add anything. My wife said it was a noisy machine, so I tried it with the second small load. It sounded like an MRI machine (banging/clanking). Best Buy was very good about returning it. It will be picked up this week.

Good average washer for the money.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When doing the auto water level sensing routine program, it is has very high noise level. It took a while to follow instructions and put the detergent in first. Otherwise it works fine.

Great Washer/Dryer Combo
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the combo on sale and it has worked great. We load it up to the top and it works great. I'm very happy with these. Great price for a great washer and dryer.

Very Loud!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a different Whirlpool washer/dryer set from Best Buy but the wash machine didn't work (spin cycle wouldn't engage) properly. I had a tech rep come out to write a report, and when I went to Best Buy I decided to upgrade to this model because it was high efficiency, and ultimately I thought it was a better purchase. I'm very disappointed in both the washer and matching dryer. The wash machine is so loud that it woke my son up out of a sound sleep. It switches cycles and it literally shakes my walls. The dryer door is so low to the ground you have to get down on hands and knees to empty.

Excellent Water Saver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love that this uses less water and the drum doesn't need to be filled to get a clean wash.

Made a mistake buying this washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have many Whirlpool appliances in our home. We purchased this Washer. It was claimed to be a great value for money. We noticed that the locked light continued to blink after the cycle was complete and we had to unplug it every time to get it back for use. Whirlpool replaced the panel and the problem returned. I am unsure if this is a problem with all the units in this model or if we received one of the poor quality units. I have informed Whirlpool again. I am awaiting their response. I am sure Whirlpool has better models than this.

DO NOT BUY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this washer with the matching gas dryer back in April 2014. Although the dryer has been working well, we've had nothing but issues with the washer. Recently, the gear box was leaking on the motor and not only did I have to wait over a week to get one of Whirlpools OUTSOURCED repair companies to see it but I had to wait 2 more weeks for the part to come in. Not very fun when you have little kids stock piling dirty laundry and nowhere to go with it. On top of all the issues, the washer is EXTREMELY loud. If you have an upstairs laundry DEFINITELY DO NOT GET THIS WASHER because its sounds like a plane is going over your house when its running.

Not a good wash if you dont like alot of noise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer make a lot of noise, you cant stand in the same room if you are on the phone, you have to close the door the room it is in, call Best buy to have someone to check it out, there is 2 Best Buy in my area, one lease then 10 miles from my house and the other one is about 35, they don't have a Tech anywhere close to my house, called Whirlpool and they said if they send someone out and if it is the noise that it makes I have to pay for the service call, I had this washer for one month now and I hate it

washer is not worth the price. even on sale
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the washer and besides the overly loud noises it makes, it had to be reset 4 times to get the first load to wash. The water level sensor took 30 minutes before it started the cycle and worst of all, the clothes were left soaking wet. Do not buy. the Whirlpool name has lost its value. I had it taken away and got a Samsung that cost alittle more but is quiet, fast and does a good job.

1920 ways not to clean your clothes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1920 is the total number of combinations of settings for this washer. With that you don't get to choose your water level or add clothes in mid cycle.

Not Hot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dryer takes at least 90 minutes to dry a regular load. I will never buy another Whirlpool and can attest that Geek Squad is HORRIBLE to deal with and completely unhelpful. (At time of purchase I bought 5-year 'protection'). So obviously Best Buy has lost a formerly loyal customer too.
