    Get the genuine Whirlpool ice and water filter to make sure you are getting filtered water and ice. Don't get the generic filters. This filter should last up to 6 months so well worth it.

    Refrigerator comes with a clever water filter system. Best part to me is that installation is at the bottom of the front side of the refrigerator. Almost idiot proof as you only have to open cover, remove old, push in new and...done. Easy Peasy. Only con is that the filer is expensive.

    When I needed to replace the water dispenser filter on my 3 year old Whirlpool fridge I made the mistake of getting cheap ones online. After changing one out for two weeks the fridge made a big racket when dispensing water. I changed the filter out and it happened again. I'm on my third of three cheap ones and got this product to have in reserve in case it happened for the third time. So far so good, so my filter from Best Buy is waiting.

    This was my first time buying a filter for my new fridge and I love it. Our water and ice tastes great and we haven't had to replace it yet. We were told it might need to be replaced sooner due to conditions of the area where we live, but it still contains product and continues to function.
