    It filters water. A technician actually said they are rated to last longer then they say to chage so I reset my fridge once and get basically two filters in one then change the next time it reminds me.

    Was looking this at other store but they were out of stock. Didn't know that Best Buy carries this kind of product. Arrived within days of purchase. Will buy here again with certificates that I earn from my Best Buy card

    I bought a universal water filter that fits various brands of refrigerators and it was inexpensive. I couldn't get it into the holder and it wouldn't work. It was the first time I tried a cheaper brand and it is not worth it. I had to discard it and get the Whirlpool filter. It works like a charm.

    Everything is good with this product. Lasts about 8 months in my fridge. Only complaint is font size on package is small and hard to read. I never remember how to install so always trying to remember the steps. Do I add water or not, does it twist left or right, etc.

    Buying a better know filter may be expensive, but in the end, those lower cost units from Amazon are overrated and do not last as advertised. Returns are a hassle too and you lose the shipping fees if you're now a Prime member. I'll pay more but get more from Best Buy.
