    I have the 'subscription' for this filter from BestBuy. Have received about 4 of these over the last two years. The last one (received in April) did not work for the water. So we had to wait and use tap water for 6 months. The next one that just arrived is much better. The water stream comes out nice and strong from the fridge. I recommend the subscription plan, but I don't really have a choice than to get this filter.

    My worn-out EDR4RXD1 filter's capacity label indicates 300 gallons and a flow rate of 0.78 gpm. This filter that I purchased today has a capacity label indicating 200 gallons and a flow rate of 0.70 gpm. So for the same price as the old filter, the new one is 2/3 the lifetime and doesn't flow as fast. The only reason I checked is because the fridge spigot stream was a bit weak even after replacing the filter. The new filter also is not marked as being made by 3M Filtration. Whirlpool, if you want people to pay a premium for a branded replacement product don't get cheap on us.
