DVD included was pan and scan and was supposed to be widescreen. Came with an apology from Disney but no instruction on what can be done to make up for it.

Best Buy messes up once again, consistently inconsistent, with the steelbooks never making it into physical stores in California.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit looks about as good as it's ever going to -- which is still pretty great considering the traditional techniques that were used. This movie was made near the end of the optical printing era of visual effects and I believe holds the record for the greatest number of VFX shots before digital scanning and compositing became the norm, even eclipsing Return of the Jedi five years before. Fortunately, the filmmakers shot most of the visual effects plates with 8-perf VistaVision cameras, giving them a large format film negative to work with (optical printing is an analog process that degrades the picture quality with every step in the chain). The DTS-HD Master Audio is great too, I'm assuming derived from the original 70mm 6-Track audio stems. Got this for $12 before tax during release week and don't regret it for a second. Highly recommended.

    Animation Meets Live Action

I always loved this film growing up but it wasn't later on that I realized Who Framed Roger Rabbit is really a great film noir! I love watching this one back to back with L.A. Confidential and Chinatown. Sure those films aren't for the kids, but for the adults they can make perfect double and triple features! Image is about on par with how the film should look. No It isn't Pixar and the effects and film processes used to mix live action and animation aren't pristine, the film at least keeps it's natural look in my opinion. Audio is mostly front heavy which is typical, and Alan Silvestri's score is used well on the surround sound speakers. The Blu Ray set doesn't feature many new extras but you do get the Roger Rabbit shorts in 1080P HD and standard DD 5.1 Sound.

I had been waiting for this to be released again, it had not been since 2003 since released last time on DVD for the 15th anniversary. I still love the film. Great characters, memorable lines and scenes I can replay. "Oh Honey Bunny". "Oh Love Cup". The singing sword. Donald & Daffy. Now, there are a bunch of extras BUT NO NEW EXTRAS. Disappointing. 25th anniversary release & NOTHING NEW. Cheap discs with NO art work on them.

At 25 years old, there is still nothing out there quite like "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". Robert Zemeckis created a one-of-a-kind experience by shooting the entire film in live action (With live Action Stunts and props) and blended Richard Williams' animation onto the film ("Space Jam" did this as well, but without the same level of detail, class, and charm). The Picture looks great considering the blend of effects, and the audio is just as good. The special features are a little lacking, but the overall package is well worth the price.

    Who Wouldn't Love This Movie?

Although I wish that the picture quality were a little more improved and that at least one new retrospective featurette had been added to the blu-ray's supplements, this movie remains one of the best from the late-1980's/early-1990's, blending live-action and animation (along with a large cast of animated characters from different studios) and the despair of film noir with the screwball zaniness of cartoons.

WFRR is a classic movie, made more interesting by its backstory; plot elements from the third of a planned trilogy beginning with Chinatown and The Two Jakes were incorporated into this movie. Great blending of animation and live action. Creepy villain, great acting by Bob Hoskins. Highly recommended!

Forgot how much I loved this movie until I watched it again. Still holds up as a classic today. Great dialogue, a wonderfully unique premise, and strong acting hold up to this day. Plus, its the only time Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse are on screen at the same time.

Great to finally see this movie in HD. Saw it in the theater with my dad in 1988 and it's lots of fun to share with my son now. Who would've guessed that the guy who made this movie also made the Back to the Future trilogy and Forrest Gump?

    Classic Cartoon Meets Real World

This film is funny. It works for children but also entertains adult. Much of the humor has two meanings and levels. It fits with the classic cartoons and period it is meant to invoke.

This was a title that hadus waiting, but they got the transfer right. It looks gorgeous, and the audio pops. Such a fun movie to watch with anyone. The error with the bonus dvd is the only problem with this title.

We loved this movie so much we had it on VHS and updated it to blu-ray. Seen Jessica Rabbit at one of the studios in Florida and have my husbands picture taken with her. Great movie for the whole family.

...I loved it even more as an adult. The humor is definitely intended for adults, but the animation will draw the kids' attention. Now I finally understand all the humor I missed when I was four.

Roger Rabbit is a classic and the upgrade in quality is nice. Because of the effects of the era, there are some threads that show a little more now, but the colors are so much richer.
