One of my favorite childhood memories. Some parts would seem too much for children now but I think it made for a great movie overall. Gene Wilder was great as Willie Wonka and all the kids did their parts amazingly. Highly recommended. Now seeing it in 4k is even better,

I loved this movie as a kid. And even now I watch it a few times a year. I think this was Gene Wilder's best movie that he ever made. Andnow that he has passed, I will always remember him like this. This movie stuck pretty close to the book. I really didn't like the Johnny Depp movie. It was too dark. My nephew who is seven, has seen this movie about 20 times. He loves the story. And who doesn't like a feel-good movie about chocolate.

This is a great movie for the whole family. Charlie exemplifies the best in a young boy. He cares for his family and when confronted with a tough decision, he is honest. Lots of fun parts and Gene Wilder is excellent. It is your Golden Ticket to a fun evening. Best version by far vs the spooky Johnny Deep version.

Superb, uplifting, and entertaining for children. Filmed in Munich back in the early '70s, Gene Wilder, in his best role, in my opinion, takes us on a magical musical adventure. Nice touch for WWII historians to add the picture of Martin Bormann, then a wanted war criminal, as the counterfeit Golden Ticket Winner. (Note, his remains were found and identified years later while digging a sewer in Berlin. Fitting.)

I’ve determined, of sound mind and body, that the 4K format is the ONLY way to view this film. Picture and audio outstanding, my Best Buy sold out of these in 1 hour. I don’t know if every copy in store will be sold with a slipcover, but mine was, and it was outstanding. Great 50th Anniversary treat.

Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory is a great, fun-filled movie that the whole family can enjoy. The songs, performed by the cast members, are fun & uplifting. Guaranteed to brighten your day. The heartwarming story will make you smile & you'll know once again how great it was to be a kid. While not 100% faithful to the source material of the book this movie is a true classic & will be talked about for years to come. A must have for any family film collection.

Love this movie one of my all time favorite films can’t wait to see it in 4K should be amazing the slip cover colors pop with that metallic sheen looks great I only wish with it 50th year release we could of got a steelbook option for the movie but it still a must buy if your a fan of the film

From the prime of Gene Wilder's career, this childrens' fantasy based on the novel by Roald Dahl spends the first half building up the mysterious Willy Wonka with pointed social commentary, and the second half giving in to the sheer zanyness of the character that Wilder inhabits. His wit and delivery are stupendous from the moment he limps out of the factory to great the Golden Ticket holders. He will be missed.

One of my favorite childhood movie starring Gene Wyler. Now looking way better in 4 K. I may be 50 but I love watching classic movies like this. The Johnny Depp take and this movie was horrible nobody else can redo a classic like this the best way to watch Willy Wonka is watching this movie.

This movie is a fantastic addition to anyone’s library. An updated 4K version would be great! I’ll have two copies then, I guess. The Blu-ray iDVD is sharp, crisp, and the colors are bright. You’ll never realize how colorful the chocolate factory was compared to 1971 Panavision, or whatever fancy name the movie studios were using then. And at this LOW PRICE? Come on......

I remember watching this movie when I was a kid every year when it came on television. We watched it as a family and all my kids(ages 3 to 8, and even the one year old took some interest in it), and they all loved it. You don't get too many movies these days that you can watch as a family and wonder if they are going to throw in a questionable scene or quote. The acting was good and it was an all around great movie!!

After Mr. Wilder passed away, we had a long weekend to try and watch as many movies of his as possible. We headed out to find Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory at our closest Best Buy, looked high and low, looked in the bargin bins, and couldn't find it! I was getting ready to give up, when I headed back to the family area, and happily found a Blu-Ray copy of this great movie! Couldn't be happier...

As a kid growing up i remember watching this movie on vhs. I had always wanted it on dvd and now after so many years i caught it on sale at best buy. My kids couldnt stop watching it for the first week we had it. Its funny seeing something as a kid growing up and now giving the opportunity to let me kids enjoy it the same way as i did after so many years. The original is still the best in my opinion. Gene wilder is a legend

This disc uses the 4K HDR phenomenally: the colors pop, every detail shines, and the picture is rich. The soundtrack is appropriately mixed and doesn't feel dated in the slightest. This was just a phenomenal disc that brought me back to why I love physical media.

You can't beat this classic movie, which still seems to hold its own in the test of time. Bought this movie to share with my sons and they absolutely loved it, and we've watched it several times now. Not only is it a classic movie, but it has some strong lessons built in for kids and adults alike. However be warned, if you watch this movie you may find yourself with the Oompa Loompa song stuck in your head!

This is the one movie I had been waiting for since 4k came out! HDR IS GORGEOUS!! A classic movie and one of my favorites, great family film, so happy to have it in my collection!! Would have loved to get a steelcase realese, but the slip cover is beautiful as well!

The salesperson was very polite and not pushy whatsoever. He took our thoughts and feelings into consideration when we spoke out our needs in purchasing this item. The tv itself is AMAZING. Beautiful picture and small remote with everything you need in it. We purchased a sound system as well and it's made our movie experience so much better! 10/10 recommend!

I was super excited when I heard this release was coming in 4k UHD….so much so that my expectations might have been unrealistic. I own the standard Blu-ray and while this new release is definitely an upgrade, it didn’t blow me away as I had hoped. Picture quality and colors are improved, but not quite the pop I wanted. Sound is basically the same as the prior Blu-ray, but I was really hoping for some more immersion. Overall, I’m glad to have this in my collection, but it was slightly disappointing.

Willy Wonka movie sells itself. It is an all time classic. It being on this Blu-Ray doesn't dissapoint. The sound is the best I could have ever heard it thus far. The colors and sharness are beatuful and full. My 60" LCD might play a part in that as well :). The disc was easy to find and going to the store I always get great customer service. Get it and watch it Simple as that.

From Gene Wilder's amazing performance as the titular chocolatier to his workshop of confectionery wonderment this film continues to delight viewers of all ages. All children should see this film to help spark their imaginations while also teaching them that being a bad egg will not pay off in life. The visuals from the blu-ray release make everything more vibrant and wonderful.
