Willy Wonka is a very strange movie...surreal is the easy way of describing it. And it's a musical. One thing is certain, the 50 year old film has never looked so incredible. The picture is beautiful. The color range and detail level of the film are well worth the upgrade from standard Blu-ray. You really haven't seen Willy Wonka until you've seen this 4k disc.

A timeless piece of cinema that is charming and heartfelt. Seeing it again after many years made me feel giddy. Even though it's an older movie, the 4K transfer does the picture justice. It is quite clear and sharp. The colors really stand out throughout the movie. The audio is not bad either. The 5.1 DTS really brings out the music and sound effects. Highly recommended.

Fun family movie. Bought as a gift for our son's Christmas present.

Purchased, opened, did not see a digital code, tried to exchange it, same result did not have a digital copy in it. It advertised a digital copy included. I like when it has digital copy so I can watch on the go. If you dont care for digital, movie is good.

I wasn't sure I could get this movie since it's from the 70s but Best Buy had it and in Blu Ray no less! This was my oldest child's favorite movie when she was little and I bought this for my grandson's birthday so we can pass the joy along to another generation. This older version isn't as intense as the newer Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp (I love that one, too, and own it) but the lessons it teaches are as important today as they were 40 years ago.

Everyone knows the movie. It's a classic. What might be worth noting here that is not listed in the description is that this blu-ray disc does come with more than just the film itself. I love the oop pa loom pas. They don't make movies like that anymore.

This is a toss up for me ... I love both versions of these movies. "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" ... and ... Tim Burton's reimagined version, "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory". There is so much "pure imagination" in each version. Of course, Tim Burton's addition of the dentist father figure (we're all aware of that theme in Burton's work) did add a very high emotional scope to his telling of this tale. And Gene Wilder may be the only actor that could out "crazy" Johnny Depp.

A Classic Comedy, Drama, Musical, Family Movie! Candy manufacturer Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder) stages a contest by hiding five golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whoever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are brats: the fifth is a likeable young kid named Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum), who takes the tour in the Candy Factory.

This is absolutely one of my favorite films ever. Of course, it brings back great memories from childhood. I upgraded to the 4K version despite already having the Blu-ray box set, and it was a good move. This is why 4K exists. Suffice it to say if you are running surround and 4K you will be pleased with this disc!

I have been waiting for this one for years. I've owned it on DVD for many years and my family watches it each year. This is a HUGE upgrade! The colors, sound and details are amazing. Details are nice and crisp. the Colors really pop out, especially hen they first walk into his factory where all the candy and chocolate river are.

Classicly movie and still enjoyable for the entire family.

Best Buy delivered the 4K Ultra HD version not the 4K Ultra HD + Blu Ray + Digital CODE version.

The picture quality of this is amazing for such an old movie. If you like a classic movie from the 1970s get this one. However, if you want a working digital code better buy it as ASAP because Warner Brothers stops making them with digital years after two years or so and are terrible to deal with.

I am a huge fan of Gene Wilder’s Willie Wonka ever since my childhood. My wife and kids got this for me for Father’s Day this year. This 4K version is far superior is picture and sound quality than any other previous release and looks and sounds amazing on our 7.2.4/4K Home Theater. Highly recommended.

Classic movie that all should see. Kids love it!!!

This movie has always been a favorite and this new 4k transfer really brings out the best in this amazing film. The colors are AMAZING, the clarity is breathtaking, and the sound is top notch. Even if you already own this movie in some other form, get this. It stands head and shoulders above any previous release

If you grew up in the late 70s or the 80s, there is no doubt Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is on your list of favorite childhood films. The Blu-ray release finally brings the world of pure imagination into the 21st century by showing it in 1080p for the first time at home. While the film has never looked or sounded this good before, that is also it's biggest problem. The budget for this film was (unsurprisingly) very low. So it's also no surprise that even when it was brand new it wasn't a masterful work of art. By presenting the film in full 1080p, many of its flaws are revealed. That's not to say the film isn't worth picking up. It definitely is. Just temper your expectations. If you're looking to bring back memories of your childhood, or share the nostalgia with children in your life today, then definitely pick this Blu-ray up. I'll take this old version over the Johny Depp film any day of the week!
