This is THE only version of this tale. Gene Wilder is unmatched as the crazy Willie Wonka in this hilarious movie. It is far superior to anything related.

Go this to upgrade a DVD that I've had for years. Very worthwhile. Much to be preferred over the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp version, largely thanks to Wilder.

The movie looks great. There is still some grain in scenes but overall its a vast improvement from the DVD that I've been watching all these years. Still keeps the interest of my kids. The sound could have been tweaked a bit.
