Had a bit of a trial installing this on my new MacBook Air, but once it was all set up, it worked flawlessly (so far).

running Windows XP for a long time Windows 7 seems to be very stable OS. I hope when Windows 10 come out it will run as smooth as Win 7 does.

Love this OS. What a far cry from Win3.1 !! Not sure how Win 10 can improve this model. I'll hang onto it (like Win XP) as long as I can!

Had performed quite a bit of research to decide whether to go with Windows 7 or Windows 8. Glad that I went this way other than the issue with Windows Mail files not being easily imported into Outlook, the install went very smoothly.

I bought this to overhaul a computer that had melted down due to a virus. Installed on a solid state drive. Quick and painless. Lightening fast boot and never has problems. Has worked like a dream for the past two months. Worth it trust me

Windows 7 beats 8.1 (for older people)

I brought a brand new laptop that came loaded with Windows 8.1 as its operating system. I was TOTALLY over whelmed by it and try as I might, I just couldn't adapt to it. This came as a BIG surprise since this was the first time I couldn't make the transition. The reality is that I'm older and my neurology and frustration tolerance are not what they used to be. (Lessons learned in later life!)
The replacement took some effort in tracking down the right version of 7, having it shipped to the local Best Buy store and getting it installed by the Geek Squad. I can't say enough good things about those technicians. They worked wonders in getting it installed (after some persuasion) and I would highly recommend their services for such an undertaking.
(Now, if we could get a larger font size for the typing of this review, I'd really be a happy camper!)

I had difficulty ordering this product online, so I contacted customer service to complete my order and they were very friendly and had my order completed in moments. Windows 7 is a great product for a somewhat older computer.

I installed windows 7 due to windows xp no longer being supported. I previously had purchased a laptop that had windows 7 installed on it, so I was pretty familiar with how it functioned.
Seems to operate well and without a lot of issues.

Miss my XP, but am slowly learning how to deal with the frustrations of Windows 7. (Slightly better than 8). Not as user friendly, layout is different and takes some getting used to, but perseverance pays off.

I bought this for my HAM radio shack PC which I built up on a Gigabyte motherboard. My system has no resident drives in it, so I simply slipped my XP drive out of the HD tray and built up a Windows 7 drive using this. If you are used to XP, then get the Win 7 Pro version because I understand it has an XP emulator option and it's only 40 bucks more.
This works well, and it makes many small tasks easier, like setting up a home network or installing network printers because it finds them and installs the drivers automatically. It found every one of my device drivers without my having to lift a finger. To quote Dr. Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory, "This Windows 7 is much more user friendly than Windows XP. I don't like that".
So, if we have to give up our beloved XP, this is an acceptable alternative. But if you use CHIRP to program your software-defined handheld transceiver you will be in for a rude surprise, because it is buggy with Win 7. But Office 2003 and others work just fine.
